I leveled a warrior fury all the way. I've been through the dailys enough times to get my epic mount, been through the BG's enough to get some "welfare" epics, leveled my BS to make my Blazefury and but haven't found a group willing to let me tag along instance wise yet.
I just ran a 50 pally through ZF, that took about 20 minutes to clear out the whole instance. Other than that I've never done an instance but would love to get into running them.
I don't mind being the tank. I'd imagine I'd enjoy it. With the new patch and raid/instance nerfs I've respec'd prot and am going to try and get into some pug's. Need to find some groups with patience to get through the learning curve though.
Finding groups/guilds with your kind of patience is rare indeed.

You may in fact be doing it wrong.
1. Que up for the instance of your choice
2. Go to major city and spam /2 Tank LFG anything
3. Get invited in 2 seconds and about a million tells asking you to join
4. Pick what you want to do.

On the subject... Raids are a joke now. My guild was working on Teron before the patch hit(we were 4/5, 3/9). We have some very experienced members in our group, but most of us have never seen past Teron.
Well, Teron is a complete joke now. He was dead by the time the 2nd Constructs had popped. We decided to hit up RoS after just so most folks could at least get a look at the fight. Well he died on the 2nd attempt.
The next night we smoked Bloodboil one shot, then went and one shotted everything in Hyjal up to Archi. Mother took quite a few attempts, but she's also down. We went from not downing Teron, to being on Council when we get back in Sunday/Monday. I can't imagine how easy Kara is now.
Personally I like the change. It definatley takes some of the thrill out of killing bosses, as they're going down on our first or 2nd attempts... ever. But with a month to go before the xpac, it's great seeing bosses you've never seen before, and some still do pose a slight challenge because of the fight mechanics(we're still going to have to "learn" Archi... we're not powering through that with people standing in fire).
I'll admit I was getting a little bored with raiding, but seeing new bosses, getting new gear before the xpac, and playing around with new talents(and insane Moonkin DPS), I've had more fun this week than I've had in a while.

No, I haven't tried to PUG anything as a tank yet. I just respec'd last night and figured out my hot bar.
I'll run my dailys as prot spec'd a couple times just to figure abilities out and what pops up when.
Need to figure out what I can macro and what I can't.
Hopefully it'll be as easy as you say it will be. Unfortunately as my age it gets harder and harder to find people you actually get along with as well. :)
