Wrath manual hidden in latest WoW files
If you just can't wait to read the Wrath of the Lich King manual, Maeglin of Khadgar made an interesting discovery -- it's already on your computer. Inside your World of Warcraft folder, if you go to the Data folder, and then "enUS" and Documentation, you'll see a PDF file called Manual_WLK. It's the Wrath manual in black and white -- there are good writeups in there (spoiler-free, as far as I could tell) on the story so far and Northrend, and some cool concept art for weapons and other sights of the next expansion. The credits are in there, too, and make sure to go to the very end to read all the thanks from Blizzard -- some of them are pretty funny. This likely isn't the final manual -- there's something in the Death Knight description that still says runes can be customized, and while we heard that earlier in development, it's since been removed from the class. And it's in black and white, while we'd expect the full manual to have color when it's finally printed. But it's a cool find, and something to tide you over until you can get the real thing on release day (which, as you can see from our countdown, is growing ever closer).
Thanks, Wes R.!

Well... even when it eventually gets printed the manuals become obsolete. So it doesn't really matter to me until I see the finish product.

The lore is still nice. And at least Mr Schramm is finally providing some "news"

With all the servver crashes and downtime, I'm suprised it took someone this long to start data-mining.

You gotta love a company that can count a Kevin Crook in their legal team (Global, no less).

Is there a way to download the countdown timer sepertately?

What's the point of a manual at all? Most people are too frakking lazy and stupid to read it anyway and spam /trade with retarded questions.
Just like when 3.0.2. hit, and people asked how to get Inscription, where to find the Lexicon of Power, where to find the harbour, how to get to Northrend, how to get the exotic pets... all of this information is available through the patch notes, in the game manual, by reading the in-game tooltips or www.wowhead.com, but they are just too stupid to do their own bloody research.
If stupidity was edible, there would be no hunger in the world.

If bitterness was edible, I think you'd be a chubster.

If you look at the other manuals in that folder, they are all black and white.

Color pixels are more expensive than black pixels.

@PeeWee: If stupidity was edible, stupid people would still starve, it is in their nature to do so.
@AutumnBringer: He isn't bitter, he's annoyed and wants to scream "RTFM!!!!!" in full, but the F%#&ing profanityfilter gets in his way.
People don't read manuals, heck, they don't even read their quest-texts or tooltips, so it will be fun to start a Deathknight and read all the "How do I turn in the horse" -> "L2P NOOB; Alt + F4; uninstall WOW" chatter going on >:-)
In stead, you could just say: "Ride back to camp, then press 1 to deliver the horse to Salanar."
I wont answer it when WOTLK releases, I'll be too bussy spamming trade with "How do I turn in the horse???" and "My horse is attacking me!!!" :-D

The manual doesn't give much away... except for disclaimers, haha... I read manuals and books and everything... and then I like to ask where the harbor in Stormwind is, just to see how some players react to retard questions... Last Wednesday was a 24 hour joke at SW!!! I loved it.
