BigRedKitty: Freezing Arrow and a new Wolf
Daniel Howell contributes BigRedKitty, a column with strategies, tips and tricks for and about the Hunter class, sprinkled with a healthy dose of completely improper, sometimes libelous, personal commentary.
Even better, we'll show you how it works as we hunt down, tame, and introduce you to the latest beta Wolf-skin!
You are invited to download the YouTube version (36MB) of this movie here, and the full-sized version (53MB) here.
As always, a great big Thank You to the WoW Insider editors for allowing us to publish this movie both here and on our little blog at the same time!

That was going to be my question: will it be worth my time to beg my hunter to go pick up a wolf for my raids so that Furious Howl will stack with BOM/Battle Shout?
Toraneko Oct 31st 2008 3:36PM
Furious Howl is overwritten by a Paladin with Imp Blessing of Might or a Warrior with Imp Battle Shout.

Most Loved Class ever! grrrrrrrr >_

Is the range on Furious Howl big? I tend to stay as far back as possible when Im attacking a mob. It doesnt seem that useful if the buff range is small as it used to, only benefiting melee and not other hunters including myself.

So BRK, does this mean that we may soon be able to tame other pet models that are armored, such as the Amani War Bear model?
ayalafatalis Oct 21st 2008 7:43PM
When BRK mentioned the 'hand in the wolf's mouth' thing, was I the only one who thought of the mythological figure, Tyr?

My first toon in wow was a hunter which I got bored with at 60 and moved on , all the hunter changes really make me want to take another shot at mine.

Beta testers are not impressed with this stupid shot. The idea has been bouncing around hunter forums for ages - AS A JOKE. Like everything else hunters get these days it's goofy and useless.

Good for trapping casters, always hard to pull. If the cooldown of this arrow is independent from freezing trap (?), this gives a better crowd control. This looks like a fun option as well. As said before by someone, we get to protect healers better... welcome freezing arrow (and thanks to you Kitty for all the work you do for us hunters).

...... OMG armored pet!
BRK does it again.

.. i was kind'a hoping you could fire at target and they'd freeze
on hit, that'd be way cooler

The wolf is tameable in 3.02; I picked one up the other night on a live realm.
