Breakfast Topic: How are you spending PvP points?

You can save Honor points, of course, until you reach level 80, even though everything at that stage will be much more expensive, and you won't be able to buy as much with what you earn today. Is this inflation enough to make you just wait till later to PvP in battlegrounds? Or do you want to hit 80 with us many points stored up as possible? Do any of the current PvP rewards look attractive enough for you to purchase them now instead of waiting?
The Arena is a somewhat simpler proposition. Any points you have will be gone as you start leveling up again, so you have to spend them now. Are they still worth earning? If so, will you spend them on gear? Or will you buy the special PvP gems in order to put them in gear you get later on?

Personally, I'm going to stockpile as much honor as I can in hopes that maybe it'll be worth a glimpse at the wares for a level 80.... assuming I don't also require a ridiculous arena rank to purchase anything.

At this point, im saving honor while i grind marks of honor for the pvp mounts.
feldling Oct 21st 2008 8:07AM
I am definitely hanging on to my honor points at this point. I have most of the PvP gear and the more points I earn now, the better off I'll be at level 80.

Well I am debating on one of the new cloaks....
it is 20k and 20 ab marks, i have 27k....I think the healing cloak w +8mp5 would last me several levels in Wrath but idk if it is a big enough upgrade for 20 k

I'm not. My battlegroup sucks so it entirely ends up being way too much effort, way too little return.
dtrmp4 Oct 21st 2008 8:14AM
I'm saving my honor, as for arena points, I'll probably keep doing atleast the 10 games a week to maybe get 1 more upgrade before the expansion.

I'm getting S2 gear to have a better starting-position in Northrend, with only 22 days to go, I have to be selective on what to get, and what not to.
Warsong Gulch is like going through Hell, and endless grind of two hours pointless killing for as good as no honor and only one mark, I think I'll skip the gear that requires these marks.

If you're spending 2 hours in WSG and not getting any honor you are doing something horribly horribly wrong. I did a 54 min WSG the other day and got 806 honor. It's all based on HKs now as far as I can tell. Yeah we lost, and I only got one mark, but holy crap 800+ honor!!
Axolotl Oct 21st 2008 11:57PM
So 804 honor in two hours, I can do that easy in AV without the agony that is WSG and in a lot less time
The no honor should be read as "not enough honor for the trouble", I kill a few alliance, but it should not be the only way honor is gained there, and let's face it, 15 honor for a flag-cap just isn't cutting it.

Axolotl,
S2 gear can be bought for heroic badges also. Just buy the WSG-token items with badges instead.
dtrmp4 Oct 21st 2008 8:32AM
Since when could S2 gear be bought with badges? Was it added in the patch or something?
bigdaddyjay Oct 21st 2008 10:01AM
Pretty sure that was added before the last patch, but i don't think it's on sale for badges. I think you have to turn in PvE tier gear tokens for it. On the isle up in the top of that tower next to the lady you pick up one of the dailies from.
Again, I'm not positive about being able to buy them with badges, but you can definitely buy them with the tokens.

looking at wowhead, it appears that the Veteran's pieces (S2) for belt, boots, and bracers are available for BoJ's.
The other pieces of S2 armor are purchased with T5 tokens... I wonder if the T4 tokens can still purchase S1 gear though... especially since S1 was removed from purchase with the start of S4....
hmm. Anyone know?

Doing BGs with the new talents is fun, so that I'm able to farm honor that can be used later is more of a pleasant side effect than something I'm focusing on.
Pastorchief Oct 21st 2008 8:22AM
I'll be grinding the last 7 points to grab my season 4 gloves, and then grinding honor by saving up for the bg mounts.
Being able to quickly get into the game at 80 is more important to me than getting minor upgrades that will get replaced before 80.

I love to PVP and I had 400 Marks and 60k honour lying around doing nothing so the first thing I did on the patch was get a new trinket and a new cloak to replace my old BM trinket and Dory's Embrace. Gonna easily grind up to max again helping my girlfriend learn PVP first-hand and have plenty lying around at 80.
bendak Oct 21st 2008 8:36AM
Have around 55k honor and will definitely be sitting on it til 80.
timmy! Oct 21st 2008 8:40AM
I've got 40K honor and I'm saving mine for the expansion. If I happen to get close enough to the 75K cap I'll buy something, so that I can continue to enjoy PvP and still stock pile honor points.
Cixah Oct 21st 2008 8:58AM
I'll be farming up honor after I finish getting my S4 Boots. Despite the season being over my 2v2 partner (retpallylol) and I tried to go as far as we could again. 1910 so far, gunna go farther this week. Points are easy enough to farm so I'll do that once I have all my pieces.
Erika Oct 21st 2008 9:17AM
Since i hate bgs i did just enough to get a pvp trinket for Hyjal.
