Breakfast Topic: What is your favorite holiday?
The Feast of Winter Veil is nice and Brewfest is fun (though a disappointment over last year's), but my favorite holiday this year in Azeroth is Hallow's End. The Midsummer Fire Festival is a close second, mind you. It was fun and profitable. But Hallow's End has better lore and better accessories.
Sure, I love my dancing flames chickie, but my Rickety Magic Broom is the best thing ever -- and it's only temporary. The masks, the candy, the pumpkin heads -- it's just fun.
Of course, it's not really fair to compare Hallow's End to the other holidays, in a way. Along with this event is a new patch with overpowered classes, underpowered mobs and the best thing added to WoW since it's inception: Achievements. I mean, you get an Achievement for throwing pumpkins at people! How cool is that?
Ok, Ok, I'm a fangirl. I'm a fan of the real life holiday as well as in-game events in general, so I'm extremely biased and perhaps a bit over-exuberant. But I know some of you are with me, right?
What is your favorite in-game holiday? Or do you find these events to be an annoyance or at best a distraction?

Midsummer and Halloween are easily two of the best. But Children's week has a special place in my heart; its goofy/cute, doesnt outlive its welcome & has great rewards for any pet collector!

I always enjoy winter veil the most. I always save vacation time during the year to take time off in December and it always fun to celebrate a fake video game Christmas and then celebrate the real one :)

Every holiday where just running/flying around without risks nets you a full level

Yeah - and any holiday where you don't have to repeatedly kill the same boss again and again and again to get a super rare drop so that you can complete the holiday achievement!

I like Hallow's End too, the brooms are awesome for grinding and farming minerals...it's near instant cast!
I also like the winter's veil, that can be fun.

Right now Halloween is my favorite and Winter Veil is a close second. Although fighting your whole server to kill the damn Christmas Greench for that one quest is a nightmare. They need to make him a new summoned boss in a dungeon Headless Horseman style.

I hate em all, but childrens week is pretty good coz u get +rep with lower city!

Lunar Festival is probably my favorite. Love is in the Air, Children's week, and Hallow's End all are close second though.

I like Children's week.
Those kids are really good with a bit of ranch dressing, though their brains are kinda too soft for me.

Children's Week, because I like seeing orphans in absurd places.
And Valentine's, because I'm a sap.

Aaaaaah! I gotta say that few events have been as catching - it's fun to begin with, and the addition of Achievements has made it all the more fun - Me and wifey, die-hard PvEr's, were laughing ourselves out trying to find that *stupid* crate in southshore with 15+ guards hot on our heels.
We have a guildie who's hot on 20 mins Bota runs (he STILL needs those Pala shoulders), and strangely, while we were very hot about it too, haven't done one since last week - too busy running around Azeroth trick 'n treatin' :)

Halloween is definately my number 1. That headless horsman mount is the prettiest holiday drop i've seen so far.

Childrens week or Winter's Veil

I'm rather fond of the Lunar Festival. The Omen (Nian) fight in Moonglade is a lot of fun.

The holidays are what have kept me involved in WoW over the past year and a half. My favorite by far is the Midsummer Fire Festival. I love stealing the flames from the Alliance cities, and I can't wait till next summer to get the title. Second place goes to Brewfest. I'm a beer drinker, almost a beer connoisseur irl, and I love the fact that WoW has a version of my favorite RL holiday (Yes, it's a holiday damnit!). If it weren't for the beer theme of Brewfest, it would be a tie between Hallow's End and the Lunar Festival. I love things that want you to go all over every single zone. It's so fun to visit the old lands again.

I AM VERY AGAINST REAL LIFE INFLUENCES IN MY MMOS but blizzard loves it for the casuals.
If i had to chose id say nothing is cooler than having a little human baby prisoner :)

Brewfest!
Randal Oct 22nd 2008 8:51AM
Midsummer Fire Festival is easily my favorite. I love the way they blend the pvp with the rest of the stuff.
Following that is Brewfest. I like where they are going with the festivals. I like the summoned bosses a lot.

I've only been playing WoW since february, and so only have experienced some of the holidays but so far Hallow's End is my fave, followed by Fire Festival.

Childrens week by far. You get a pet, get rep and make children happy - what more do you need? Well maybe beside beer. So Brewfest a close second :)
