Breakfast Topic: What is your favorite holiday?
The Feast of Winter Veil is nice and Brewfest is fun (though a disappointment over last year's), but my favorite holiday this year in Azeroth is Hallow's End. The Midsummer Fire Festival is a close second, mind you. It was fun and profitable. But Hallow's End has better lore and better accessories.
Sure, I love my dancing flames chickie, but my Rickety Magic Broom is the best thing ever -- and it's only temporary. The masks, the candy, the pumpkin heads -- it's just fun.
Of course, it's not really fair to compare Hallow's End to the other holidays, in a way. Along with this event is a new patch with overpowered classes, underpowered mobs and the best thing added to WoW since it's inception: Achievements. I mean, you get an Achievement for throwing pumpkins at people! How cool is that?
Ok, Ok, I'm a fangirl. I'm a fan of the real life holiday as well as in-game events in general, so I'm extremely biased and perhaps a bit over-exuberant. But I know some of you are with me, right?
What is your favorite in-game holiday? Or do you find these events to be an annoyance or at best a distraction?

They need to combine children's week with brewfest. That way these kids get a real parental experience.

I'd say the Lunar Festival. I think running around to all the ancestors is cool and I really like that it provides us w/a supply of personal spotlights with whcih to satisfy our inner narcissist. Also, I think it's cool that WoW celebrates the Lunar New Year, as it acknowledges the games multi-cultural appeal.
That being said, I've loved Hallow's End more than anything this year, but I think that has a lot to do with the achievements, and the pursuit of the "the Hallowed" title. We'll have to see how the pursuit of other holiday achievements stacks up.

Coming from an RP server, they all have little special places in my heart. I love Halloween, but there's something to be said for some of my first holidays (Winter Veil, Valentines, etc.). Just remembering those is nostalgic and fun.

Hallow's End was the first holiday I got to see when I started wow last year, and it's still my favorite. The Horseman, the candy, the pumpkins, the costumes...it's just great. I'm also a fan of the Midsummer Fire Festival, that was really fun too. I also adored my orphan at Children's Week.

I love Winter Veil. We always have a party with the guild, exchange presents IC. I LOVE going overboard with these things. Last year I farmed for two weeks straight and gave everyone a mechanical yeti... aaah, the memories. So yes! Winter Veil.
I don't like Children's Week for some reason. I left my orphan to die when he started getting too demanding and never looked back.

My favs: halloween, winter's veil, midsummer fire festival, children's week, love is in the air. Last night in BT everyone had pumpkins on their heads, or had costumes on. Such fun!

Hallow's End. One reason.
Headless Horseman is one of the best voice actors in the entirety of WoW, and I love rhymes.

I agree... Hallow's End is my fave ingame holiday, too. Followed closely by Winter Veil and Midsummer Fire Festival. Brewfest LAST year was more fun for me than this year; I miss the Pink Elekks on Parade!

The Midsummer Fire Festival is definitely my favorite. It has a good combination of money, XP, pets, gear, and enemy faction bashing. My second favorite is Hollow's End, only because everything about it is easy, and some of the rewards are pretty nifty. I only wish that the buff candy would last longer than 1 day.
But you can't forget the free pets from the precocious and unloved orphans. :P

I never really got into any of the Holiday events until this year.
I must say, Hallow's End has been quite fun and amusing this year.
Brewfest was a bit disappointing, but fairly enjoyable.
Mid-Summer was alright as well.
Children's Week is a classic...

Hallows End is definitely my favorite holiday. I remember last year it happened a couple months after I started playing, and I was just at the right level for SM so I got a lot of free runs through the place just by asking all the 70s who were hanging out there all the time.
I think the thing I like most about Hallow's End though is how pervasive it is throughout the world. Everywhere you go there are pirates and ninjas and people flying on brooms with pumpkins on their heads.
I'm looking forward to the next Children's Week now as well because of the achievements. They all have such mean names (Once an Orphan...), it will be fun.

omg, I found out accidently that the buff candy stacks up to four times... how was I supposed to figure that out? Such a good buff.

There's an achievement to dress up like Germans and dance while drunk in Dalaran. Brewfist is 100% pure win.

I'm a little biased, I have to say hallows-end, everyone celebrates my Birthday :D

I have to go with Winter's Veil. That said, the last Summer Festival was much improved.
Brewfest and Hallow's End aren't bad. It would be nice if we got exp for Brewfest dailies.

Hallow's End, by far. Then again, my first character and main is undead. I'm a bit biased.

I like the midsummer festival the best of all the holidays so far. Christmas is my favorite irl but in wow it's always been kinda meh. The fire festival was awesome cause you could go around and extinguish the opposing factions fires. This made you pvp a little and get out and explore places you might haven't visited in a while or maybe have never been.

Brewfest. No matter how ridiculously frustrating it was trying -- and failing -- to get that kodo, it's still my favorite for everything else. The barking, the ram racing, the fun little rewards, and just the general idea of it are all great. If they would just put the mounts on a token system, it would be perfect.
I'll bet Midsummer Fire Festival would be my second favorite, but I took a month off from WoW when it was running, so I didn't really get to experience. Reading about it makes it sound like a blast, though.
Hallow's End is fun as far as gameplay and gimmicks go, but I get bored to death with the theme. Halloween's just been another day since I quit trick-or-treating in 5th grade, and plastic zombies, witches, and skeletons aren't very interesting to me. To better explain my apathy toward it all, I didn't really mind passing on the Sinister Squashling for a guildie. The whole holiday just isn't a big deal for me.
