Breakfast Topic: Braiiins for breakfast?
If you've paid any attention to the goings-on in the World of Warcraft lately, you probably know that Arthas has already made his first move and sent crates of a conspicuous nature to some very public places in Azeroth. They're not exactly gift packages, either, as clicking on these crates will infect you with a ghoulish disease. There've been reports of zombies attacking towns, feasting on the innocents, and turning entire populations into the Lich King's servants.Have you unwittingly (or wittingly!) gotten infected? Have you had the disease run its course and turn you into one of the malevolent Scourge? Are you one of the remaining bastions of the Light, cleansing all who may be infected and smiting those who have been transformed? How are handling this world event that's preparing us for Wrath of the Lich King?

I'm a bit of a killjoy and have been running around cleansing every possible NPC and player I can find who's infected. :P
Glory to the Light!

Me too! No one tells you to stop, they just stand there while you cast Cleanse on them 11 times, then all of a sudden the HATE tells pour in when they realise the area is sterile.
If someone had said: "Don't Cleanse me bro." I would have left it, why wait until I'm riding out to tell me I'm a hated nub?
PvP Trash talk ... JOY!

I'm loving this event and I gotta agree with Trajah. I've been going out of my way to purify towns, whether it's cleansing or killing NPCs or players only to get hate tells afterwards. If someone asks to not be cleansed I leave them. I like this event because I want to cleanse towns, back off zombies!

Man, I've been fighting zombies, I don't want my brains eaten, and all I get from players is 'OMG Nu0b' or /spit a thousand times, or Fuck you, and various other profanities... Seems you don't need to be infected to loose your brain? Zombies are NEVER a good thing.

Don't feel to bad. Took all the flight masters and battle masters out. It completely shut down everything in Shatt. Not to mention the lag is awful.

I got infected and then attacked astranaar. Its so ironic, i've spent countless hours defending that town from the horde. It turns out I was its worst enemy as I took it over and turned all the guards to zombies with me.
It was awesome!!!

I keep getting yelled at when I kill zombies :(
Wistin Oct 23rd 2008 9:02AM
Ignore them. You are entitled to your fun, too.
Nick S Oct 23rd 2008 9:52AM
It annoys me when people get pissy about their zombies being killed. I even heard saw one person /yelling "IF YOU KILL ZOMBIES YOU ARE RUINING THE WORLD EVENT FOR EVERYONE."
It's part of the world event, people! If you want to amass a zombie army, take a cue from Arthas - do it somewhere the Paladins can't get to you easily!
That said, I don't kill zombies, because I love chaos. And zombies.
CorishMG Oct 23rd 2008 10:47AM
Yah, don't feel bad about killing zombies.
My tactics (on my warlock with an evil bent) is to avoid population centers while I'm a zombie. Instead, I try to infect as much of Azeroth as possible, for as long as possible. Usually a few humanoids in every camp that I come across, who will then spread the plague to their brethren once they transform.
If someone catches me, good for them. I'm having fun trying to elude discovery while leaving a trail of plague behind.
(If it's a low level player who finds me - I won't attack them. That's not sporting. I may summon any zombies near me, however, because they're more likely to be equivalent level to the player.)

Fun of what I've seen. Only downside I've encountered so far, is that towns will eventually revert back to normal once everyone leaves. I did a late night infection working my way from crossroads (where I was infected) up to auburdine, but hours later it was all fine again, all my hardwork gone. :P Oh well.
I wish I could see the main event when it finally unfolds, but alas, my family decided this week we'd all go on vacation. bah.
Is it sad that I'm already trying to think of how to get regular internet access on a laptop while gone? :P I'd hate to miss out on any possible achievements or tabard. I'm such a wowaddict. >_

It depends on the town layout. It's a fascinating systems problem, actually - some towns turn out to be self-sustaining zombie-towns, while others don't.
Splintertree Post in Ashenvale, as far as I can tell, is self-sustaining; the NPCs spawn, die, and respawn at a rate that allows them to stay continuously zombified.
Swiffer Oct 23rd 2008 8:17AM
I managed to take over most of Darkshire before some shammy came and wiped it clean.
After that i sacrificed my life for the Lich King so that i could infect the High Priestess of the Aldor. Turns out her respawn is around 15 minutes.

Am i the only one, but I am IN LOVE with the breakfast club poster with the zombie.
that is all sorts of win.
