Ziggurats for the Scourge are the land-based mini-structures that serve as a little stronghold, and in WC3 were the food structure. Necropolis/Halls of the Dead/Black Citadel were the upgradable floating main base structure.
WoW: an example of the ziggurat is seen three times in Stratholme, with crystals above, a boss creature infront, and cultists inside.
Necropolises are Naxxramas and its kin currently attacking Azeroth.

Necropolis (Latin "city of the dead"). Plural: necropolises, necropoleis or necropoles. I like necropoli, like fungi, even though it's wrong.
