Men are from the Horde, women are from the Alliance

But things get more interesting when you start putting classes and gender into the mix. Women are pushing the average on Alliance side (men even out around 58/42, but women prefer to "grab their sword and fight the Horde" at 65/35). And when you compare the classes to faction choice, as above, then the stats really start showing signs of life:clearly, women prefer Alliance Druids (and when you look at the Druid forms, there's no question why). You can see the Alliance/Horde separation in the Hunters (that's all those Night Elves), and you can see the gender separation again in the Priests. And the Warriors probably have the weirdest stats: Men play more Warriors overall, but the gender gap is even wider on the Horde side. While there are some women playing Horde Warriors out there (I know an Orc played by a female that will tank anything you can throw at her), Horde Warriors are much more likely to be men.
Very interesting. Keep in mind, as last time, that these gender numbers aren't character genders -- they're self-identified on the gamerDNA site, so we can be reasonably certain that we're looking at an (at least slightly) realistic stack of data here. There's probably lots more data to be explored, too -- it would be interesting to see what Blizzard knows about their players that we don't. What class, for example, logs in the most on any given week?

No Blood Elf Warriors.
'Nuff said.

Yes, they are called paladins :-P

On Horde the ratio of male and female warlocks is the same!

Not surprised there. When I convinced my wife to try WoW and we were picking classes to play, she chose druid because she wanted to be a cat.

iv noticed more women on the alliacen side personally

Female Horde player here, and druid - I *love* the Tauren kitty form.
Panthers are nice and all, but a Lion with horns? Come on. That's awesome.

You're the only one...

You seriously want to be playing a male lion? Only males have manes, you know. I hate that model.

Wahey! Fellow (hmm... need a female version of that word) female tauren druid here!
I'd be interested to see how many women prefer tanking - as I suspect that would be male dominated.

Of course, no females want to play the Horde because they are all ugly except for belfs but nelfs are enough and very few women I know rather play the Horde, known as the evil faction.

Not all women think this. My wife loves her male Tauren Warrior. She likes the Tauren the most and really dislikes gnomes, night elfs and draenei. Though she doesn't like any other horde race either.

So Horde is more of a sausage fest... yes I think everyone knows this. Interesting stats though.

I'm a female who plays Horde almost exclusively. There are quite a few females in my guild and I run into them a lot when my guild works with other guilds.
I have gotten comments from time to time about playing a Warrior tank so I have gotten the impression that it less common. I do know another female player who plays a Warrior tank though.
I have grown to love Trolls and that's the main reason I play mostly Horde. I have quested on both sides and neither side has a valid claim to be the 'good' side against the 'evil' of the other side. Alliance just feels more stuck-up and self-righteous which puts me off.

The warrior and priest stats are not all that surprising, but I was surprised at the rogue stats. I started w/ an alli Druid, but once I started my Undead Rogue I've been Horde ever since ;)

It depends a lot on server type as well, I'd imagine. My server, Ravenholdt, is swarming with women on hordeside because of its nature as a rp-pvp server with a huge population advantage for Horde.

Interestingly that alliance is seen as the good side, whent hey were instrumental in a lot of the worlds present woes.
Who was responsible for power of tirisfal? Humans
Who was it that showed alliance magic? High elves
Which race did kel'thuzad come from? Humans
Who sundered the earth across three zones? Dwarves
Holgar Oct 27th 2008 12:03PM
Who fell under demonic influence? Orcs
Who did a wholesale mass killing of innocents as a result? Orcs
Who is a bunch of Cannabalistic Savages? Trolls
Who is just as bad as any scourge? Forsaken
Who Started Warsong Gultch? Orcish Horde
Who invaded Arathi Basin? Forsaken
Who fired the first shot at a peaceful expidition to start AV? Horde
Before getting into the blame game just remember your races did much much much more poop just as recently.
And two of your comments are just plain stuipid The Litch King is a fusion of an orcish Shman and a Human Deathknight and he would have taken Kel'thuzed if he was elf, dwarf, gnome orc in an intermant camp w/e

I'm rather surprised by the information that more women play Alliance. I am female and I play almost exclusively Horde characters. I love the melee classes. I do have a few Alliance characters for when my husband wants to group with his brothers, but I find the Horde questlines more fun.

There are lies, damned lies, and statistics.
