New spooky forum avatars
All the blue posters have been turned into glowing jack-o-lanterns, and all of us normal folks have turned into undead zombies.
The conspiracy theorist in me suggests that this is a clue to the next stage of the zombie invasion. Tomorrow we'll all log on and have a strange urge for brains and only brains. Lots and lots of juicy... yummy... braaains. Insert Homer Simpson drool here.
Of course this could just be another fancy bit for Halloween, but who knows....
There is no indication how long this will last, and also there's no word if there'll be new Wrath of the Lich King avatars after this is done as there were when the Burning Crusade was released.

i think the avatars are hawt, although a little late. Also, there seems to be a few new guards in undercity that I haven't noticed before. Maybe da jurandr be not stayin' away from da voodoo?

Hmm. Honestly, I hope that forced zombification isn't on the agenda. Considering the sheer amount of QQ that went on during the initial zombie invasion, I can only imagine the sheer level of it that would happen if everyone became a zombie with no chance of being otherwise.
If that's the case, I'll just be staying off of WoW for a few days. Oi.

It's sort of cute that you're trying to use that annoying LOLspeak meme, but it would be "I can haz braiiins" if you did it right.
Zep Oct 27th 2008 10:30PM
You're doing it wrong...
It's "I can haz braiinz?"
No self-respecting lolzombie would be caught saying "can I"
Lemons Oct 27th 2008 11:02PM
I'm bet the outcry issuing from "your people" (a.k.a people who care about dumb stuff) will make them change it from "can I" to "I can." Or at least they'll change it next year...

@Lemons: *......whoooooooosh.....*

I hope there are new level 80 forum avatars

What's with this forced zombification on the forums? I logged on to check the forums, and am trying to get more posts because my only toon is in his low 30's post count, and here I have to be a zombie now. Gee thanks blizz, I thought I signed up to post on the World of Warcraft forums, not Zombies of Warcraft forums. QQ
Ok, seriously though, I am so pleased with all this event content. I do think you guys are waaaay overthinking this one in trying to look for clues in upcoming events, but it's fun all the same. We've never really had epic world events like this and it's a real beath of fresh air. War effort was a grind, the old invasion, while cool, was hardly worldchanging.
I suppose I can see why we don't have more given the amount of QQ this caused though. Seriously guys, you're complaining that the story of the game is getting in the way of you playing the game.

Actually, the Zombies of Warcraft forums is a perfect description of the forums in question... ;]

Touché sir.
I actually didn`t intend any commentary on the state of the forums. I have been spending far too much time there, and thus should have seen that. Why, just the other day I was on druid forums and I... oh...
I don`t feel so great all of a sudden.
I... I...
Buffffssss..... need more buuuuuuffsss....

I distinctly remember this happening last year.

I'm loving this world event, SO much. From a lore perspective it's been great, as you can get an idea of the chaos in Lordearon during the first plague. That being said though, as I only have the time to play WOW a few evenings a week, I'm rushing around trying to get the Hallows End acheivement, and the end day is arriving quickly, so the two events at the same time is getting hard to juggle, especially for my low level alts collecting gnerds for me in infected towns. Couldn't brains have been scheduled to start next week??

Regarding whether or not the avatars are a hint at more zombie infesting...

Not the halloween part.

My bet's on just Halloween fun for a couple reasons:
1) It doesn't seem like Blizz to give a big surprise like that away early, even in a subtle way like avatars.
2) It IS officially the week of Halloween, now. And zombies HAVE been associated with the holiday for many, many years -- long before Arthas had his armies up and about, sad to say.
