I think the bigger problem for low level characters is getting killed by high level zombies, and having quest givers killed. Which I agree is quite annoying.

People threaten to cancel their accounts and whine about everything all the time, so this isn't exactly new - it's just more to complain about. If it weren't for the scourge invasion, trade chat would be filled with complaints about ret pallys, or how Blizzard never does anything interesting, or Chuck Norris pwned their mom. It's an inconvenience but really not that big of a deal. Most people who complain about this would just complain about something else if it weren't for the invasion.
