Just as Tigole said, the plague has indeed gone away. The crates are still there, but you can't contract the plague anymore. The zombies haven't been wiped out yet, but they'll eventually just wear themselves down, they can't spread the infection. No ceremony, no big events or explosions, the plague just stopped being effective. A little disappointing, really.However, there is a rumor, a rumor, that at 4 PM PST there will be stuff goin' down in Azeroth. Supposedly it will be 'epic.' What is it? I don't know. It's entirely a rumor, but man do we love us some rumors. You do too, don't you? I thought so! Well, if anything actually does happen, we'll be right here to let you know!
Edit: Well, a whole lot of nothin' happened. Rumors are a fickle mistress! A few readers have reported that the necopoli outside of major cities are hovering lower in the sky, but it's difficult to tell. That's all we've seen or heard so far.

Clearly, a new, dynamic, interactive event lasting a few days in an MMO that's been out for 4 years makes it "getting old."
Sorry you missed a day or two of updating your Auctioneer scans.
The event was totally avoidable on lowbie alts too - I leveled a new dwarf hunter to 14 over the past week.

Thumbs up to Blizz for bringing in the zombies. Awesome to see it affect EVERYONE. It was short lived so it could not cause much grief for those who did not want to actively participate.
If Blizz does anything similar in the future, maybe they could keep it outside of the capital cities to at least offer a "refuge" for those who do not want to participate. Think of the piles of zombie bodies outside of Ogri if Thrall sent full geared defenders. They could even make it into quests for players.

They could have simply offered alternatives for lower-leveled players to bump them up to a competitive level with the zombies to fight back, and offer decent or -better- xp for completing quests and fighting the plague.
...or similar xp for the zombie side.
Was a great concept, and I hope to see them use it again, learning what I'm sure they did from this.
It was awesome - glad to have been a part of it.

Crap, I still haven't gotten my Argent Dawn Pocket Paladin! at 4pm pst, trinket will now include an on use: "QQ's MOAR about ret nerfs. TO THE GROUND BABY!"

Agreed that it was getting old. However the duration seemed about perfect to me. It had a day or two of "what the hell", then people having fun/greif and then it was gone.
Hopefully Blizzard will be able to use this information to better gauge these sorts of events if they decide to do more in the future. Cripes, could you imagine if they had gone with this for two weeks? @_@

from what i've been reading it'll be phase 6, where the scourge well start attacking org and stormwind. like lvl 63 elites etc.
The scourge invasion points well be increased more so they'll respawn alot more often.
that's all the info i got for right now.

In response to my earlier post, SW is still currently under attack. I've seen level 63 "flameshockers". I'll update if I see anymore different types.

The "Flameshockers" started popping up last night. I killed 3 of them in SW and they dropped some silver, 2 Necrotic Runes and a AD Minion's Token.
Nothing special.

The flameshockers have been around for a few days now. There is nearly always one wandering around SW Park area.
