New Furbolg form casting animation
Sure, this is hardly the most important change to come down in patch 3.0.2, but anything Furbolg is worth a mention in my book.
Personally, a Furbolg casting is more than enough excitement for me, but you, our readers, are discerning people, and we know you'd like a little bit of insight tailored to your own expectations, so we're going "choose your own adventure" on this one. You can read either one of the next two sections of this post whether you're the sarcastic and cynical reader type or the excited, "can't get enough rumors and speculation" type:
Meh: "So Blizzard improved an animation only used by lowbies (Alliance lowbies at that) with an obscure quest item? Is this why we can't have more battlegrounds?"
OMG Rumorz: "Emerald Dream expansion confirmed, with playable Furblog races! I can't wait!"
There you go: either you get a chance to whine that Blizzard isn't working on more important things, or you can extrapolate a ton of rumors from something that probably took a developer a few minutes to do. Enjoy.
Thanks, Acyronius!

I love how the OMG'r is actually likely to say "furblog".
Nice touch.
AJAlkaline Oct 28th 2008 2:06PM
Or they just updated the animations because you fight furbolg enemies in the Grizzly Hills?
That makes both of those potential explanations totally off-base.
Super Guest Man 9000 Oct 28th 2008 2:14PM
What he said.
rosencratz Oct 28th 2008 2:22PM
Wasn't it the point that both explanations were stupid in the first place?
Sallix Oct 28th 2008 2:38PM
they can also /talk
komamura Oct 28th 2008 6:19PM
But can they /Dance
Andelorn Oct 30th 2008 4:49AM
I guess the only thing about them is the way that they walk.

Question is... if using this form on my huntard, will I actually use a ranged weapon or will bows magically come out of my wrists?
Go Spidey go!
oldwisemonk Oct 28th 2008 2:38PM
I'd rather see arrows shoot out of your wrists. Or a gun replacing your little furbolg hand. Gives new meaning to the term "hand cannon."
This change will be implemented for those that think there aren't enough cyborgs in the game.

There are NPC furbolgs in Felwood and Winterspring using bows, so no.

I sure hope that the next Xpac is Emerald Dream. I wanna know what the heck is going on there.
On the other hand if it's the other most likely possibility, The Maelstrom (South Seas) then we may get another Bloodsail Faction!
Also: I this is mean. They need to add an item like this for horde.
Zuldim Oct 28th 2008 2:07PM
*I think this is mean
Stupid typos.
Feanora Oct 28th 2008 2:07PM
I think it's due to the furbies in Grizzly Hills. They've got new skins, different to the old Azeroth skins, but the same models.
Jack Oct 28th 2008 2:10PM
Sweeeeeeeeeeet.
My favorite item in the game has been turbo-buffed.
Ryan11 Oct 28th 2008 2:10PM
And still, they can't /dance...

My biggest regret ever. That I was too stupid to play alliance with the rest of the worlds douchebags. Sure I've benefited from a slightly more mature and skilled faction to pug with, but at what cost? Alliance towns look amazing. Alliance quests are detailed and immersive. BGs, racials, and until recently class skills, are at least moderately biased towards the alliance. Yes, I've tried to draw some comfort from playing the "hard mode" of WoW, and of course I could always just re-roll. But I think that's beside the point. It would be nice if blizzard could at least hire another guy to help Dave and Chuck the horde animator and quest maker. My only hope is that wrath doesn't bring too many alliance only mounts, or alliance only quests with it.

Played Allie for 6 months. Got bored, moved to Horde. Now, it's a matter of personal choice, but I'd argue the Horde-only zones are a lot more atmospheric than the Alliance. Darnassus should be gorgeous and elf-like, and instead it's very bland. Compare this to the atmospheric Orgrimmar... Even Ironforge (my favorite Alliance city) is no match for Undercity. Silverpine Forest and Tirisfal Glades are absolutely gorgeous zones.
Now, granted, the Valley of Trials sucks compared to Goldshire.
That being said: I find I enjoy Stormwind more when I have to sneak in and kill flagged lowbies before escaping into Stockades to heal. :)

@Philo
IF ITS RED ITS DED!
Andelorn Oct 30th 2008 5:20AM
It always made me feel a bit sad that almost every Alliance town is just an open village, while every Horde one is a walled, spiked military encampment. And all the Horde guards are more powerful.

So, can they work on a new druid skins already if they're so worried about furbolg animations????
