There's that link again to Spectacular Death. We are still retro raiding and, with the achievements, not a week goes by that I don't get whispers asking when our next raid of classic content will be. We have stopped taking non-guild members unless we have a relationship with them, because we are not there solely for the achievement. We are there to experience the instance. In places like ZG, that means MD-ing onto the priests, assigning warriors to bandage, playing roundup with all the spiders, etc, things that a classic group simply could not do without wiping and which frustrates the begeezus out of outsiders who don't know us. There was a guild on Llane, Molten Core Swim Team, who was only going to do classic WOW. No one in the guild at the time we offered our support, had installed BC. They didn't have many members and I've lost track of them so I don't know how they fared.I had a couple of initial guild members who did not have BC installed. We took them everywhere in the old world. They have since purchased BC and are running BC content with us. They said it was too hard to see all the things we were doing and not be able to participate in the whole game. I think, for us, that's the key, the "whole" game. There are times, and it was most acute when we ran Onyxia after the patch and took 15 minutes to down her compared to 45 before, when I wondered how it was to take 39 other people with you. What was it like when Naxxramas was the pinnacle of where you could go? But then, we go into Kara as a guild and have a great time and I wouldn't want to change the experience and go backwards. If vanilla WOW servers were available, I wouldn't put a toon on them. I value, very much, the total WOW experience as has been crafted. Spectacular Death is anticipating Wrath just like most guilds. We are looking forward to exploring Northrend and doing the instances there as a guild. We have added Kara to our raid mix now and will be looking ahead to other BC endgame. Our focus won't change because BC will become "old" content and we do that well. I do think these people need to look at what they really want. I don't think it's classic WOW. I think it's something else. If a classic WOW server were to be established, there would be things missed which we take for granted now. And, as many have said, where do you end with "classic"? Which patches don't get applied in anticipation of BC? If you want to see classic instances, find a group, such as SD that is running them. There interest is there; we've proved it; but the game has to grow and evolve to be viable. You don't have to do SSC just because it's there.
