3 day credit for NA, EU customers

Blizzard knows about the realm problems as well as anybody, and as is their tendency, they're compensating for it by giving us all playtime credits. This time it's a full three days, for anyone with an active account on US, Oceanic, Latin American, European, and Russian realms (so basically everyone except Asia; the Asian realms have a different payment structure).
That's one thing I really like about Blizzard. They may mess up, but at least they try to fix it. Now can I have a Squashling, please?

I can appreciate the free time, but I really don't think this is a major loss for Blizzard. The majority of players pay on a monthly basis, using a credit card, and this free time really donates no benefit to those people.
Zrob Oct 30th 2008 10:08PM
Actually it does benefit us. If they were gonna charge the card on tuesday, they would charge it on friday instead.

My account was frozen on the 15th of October (I pay for each month individually). Do I get my free 3 days?
Leandar Oct 30th 2008 9:43PM
"This time it's a full three days, for anyone with an active account..."
No free days for you Shrimp.
Also, lol @ futurama quotes.

I personally didn't think it was bad enough for free game time, and certainly not three days, but this is a great thing for them to do. It buys back the cynics.

My room mate was playing during the time the servers were crappy and he didn't get the credit because his account died like a day or two ago...
Gabe Oct 31st 2008 1:11PM
3 days.. who cares? Illidan has been unraidable for six weeks.
Amaxe Oct 30th 2008 11:19PM
3 days seems reasonable for the most part. There were a couple of raids we had to abort when the instances all crapped out during that period, but there is a limit to what is reasonable to want in compensation.
That they made the offer is a positive thing in my view

I checked my account but it doesn't look like I have it yet.
Anyone know when were getting this?
Nocte Oct 31st 2008 5:48AM
Dunno, I haven't got it yet.
Someshta Oct 31st 2008 7:56AM
They screw up, making the game unavailable for a lot of people, and you're *cheering* and praising them for giving us back the days we payed for? :P Of course it's nice but it should be expected.

Erm wait, 3 days of gametime which doesn't make any difference is supposed to make up for all the recent issues? It's not that I want a refund in the first place, but Blizzard if you're gonna make up for your lackings, do it well. Even if 3 days for each player equals a lot of money, how does that benefit the individual player? Ohh thanks Blizzard you used a lot of money, that shows how much you care! That doesn't change the fact that 3 days gametime makes no difference. The monthly fee is drawn from my Visa every month, like I even notice or check that, how does a free 3 days make any difference? That just means 3 more days before my Visa gets drawn, for the small insignificant monthly fee that it is. Wow what a gift, thanks Blizzard.
It's not that the fee itself matters much, or that I want any sort of "refund" for World of Brokencraft, I just think it's lame of Blizzard to think that if they give us some gametime everything's suddenly okey."Sorry for the broken game, but here's a free 3 days to play in the broken game!"
To put it bluntly; I don't want my money back, I want my game to work.
D.O.T. Oct 31st 2008 10:15AM
3 days difference is the day they take that next amount out. So if you were being billed on the 4th of each month, it would be pushed back 3 days on the next. Meaning instead of the 4th, it would be the 7th. Not much in your opinion, but some people might not mind it.
Aubaine Oct 31st 2008 2:06PM
I was thinking exactly the same. What do i care if it's billed three days later?
My creditcard withdraws money from my bankaccount every end of the month, doesn't matter which day of the month I pay Blizzard...
So it doesn't matter if Blizzard bills my creditcard on the 4th or 7th.
Not that I care about the downtime, there are more things in life :)

To be honest I feel like I'd rather them save the 7.5 million and use it in development rather than save me $1.50 individually. The problem we encountered are expected, imo, with a game of this size when you make massive changes in one fell swoop. I don't hold any negative feelings towards them and if you wan't to get realistic, perhaps a few minutes off the comp was a great thing for a lot of the player base (before you argue "thats my decision, not theirs", I get it). I appreciate the effort blizz but I feel like you could do a lot more good with that money than splitting it up amongst us.

Free time is always appreciated. But I would gladly skip the free time if the Hallowe'en event were extended instead. (Gotta make up that time that got stolen by the Griefers).
zombie Oct 31st 2008 12:44PM
Again with the griefers, GIVE IT A REST fer fucks sake
Doujhe Oct 31st 2008 11:28AM
I personally don't want it. I want to give mine to someone that suffered downtime and didn't complain more than 3 times about it, or those that merely (calmly) inquired (as many times as they saw fit) as to a timeline for the fix. Although, this is partially why I have toons on 3 realms, I know some devote their lives to their mains, and count on it a hundred times more than I do the armory.
PeeWee Oct 31st 2008 1:18PM
Since I never had any problems with the server updating, I'll count these days as compensation for the zombie event instead.
crazymarc Nov 1st 2008 11:51AM
ugh, my account ended the prepaid time today, but i didnt get 3 free days =/
