I have to disagree on this point. At first, there were VERY few people with the plans and they usually charged hundreds of gold for crafting alone (which back then was a fortune). Second, because of its popularity the demand for arcanite/arcane crystals grew so much that prices explode, making a single completed Reaper cost over 800g (which would be around 4-5k now I guess).

I agree! Arcane crystals were at LEAST 30g each back in the day. Considering my epic mount was 900g, this was tough to farm up, even as a miner.
