WoW Insider Show Episode 62: Why doesn't Tame Beast work on Druids?
Our podcast was back on the air last Saturday, and we were happy to welcome two very talented bloggers to the mix: both Daniel "BigRedKitty" Howell and John "BigBearButt" Patricelli, authors of our BRK and Shifting Perspectives columns, respectively, were aboard to chat with us about whether the endgame is just too easy lately (or whether it's nice that some people who couldn't before are seeing instances and getting loot), the new boss in Karazhan, and how abruptly the zombie event ended. We also hit on Blizzard's almost-mistake with the class forums, and if we really deserved that three-day credit due to lag and queues lately. We answered emails as well -- BRK gave some great AH tips for when to get rid of your primals and mats before Wrath, and BBB helped a listener out who was wondering if he should play a Druid or a Warlock to 80 first. And I got some good glyph hints and tips out of the guys in terms of what to put in those glyph slots for Hunters and Feral Druids. If you have a comment or question for the show, feel free to send it along to theshow at wowinsider dot com, and you might even hear it on next week's show.
Perhaps most exciting, we worked a lot last week to make sure the quality of the show was better, and I think for the most part it worked -- we didn't have a single disconnect during the chat, and you should find that the tinny voices in the recording are gone as well. It's not perfect yet, and there's more we want to add into the mix, but we're working on it. The iTunes feed is still on the fritz, but the RSS feed below works just fine for me and it should for you, too. Be sure to tune in next week at 3:30pm Eastern -- we do this live every Saturday, and it is a darn good time.

Shame on you you for lying about wowradio.com you know you are they one causing the drama.
Mike Schramm Nov 3rd 2008 10:07AM
Quite frankly, we're done with this issue and the drama. The little note on the show is the last you'll ever hear about it on this site. Bottom line is that our show is on our site, and WoW Radio is welcome to do whatever they'd like, and you can decide to listen to either or both. Or listen to The Instance, they do a great show, too -- look at all the great content you all get for completely free. The end. Drama over, please.
Thanks for listening.

Personally I think WC Radio should grow up. I don't see what was so controversial about Mikes statements as to upset them so much. As far as I can see they are making a big deal out of nothing. I will miss Turpster and Duncor. But the WoW Insider show will do just fine without them.
Moff Nov 3rd 2008 10:18AM
Frankly, it sounded to me like TB, who is an untalented DB, at least as far as broadcasting goes, feels threatened by WIN leaving WoW Radio. It was childish of him to push that response statement onto my iPod as a WoW Insider show.
It's a shame that the Turpman won't be on anymore, but the show will go on without them. BRK and BBB both kick equal amounts of ass, so have them on as often as possible.

Gogo Fanboi wars !!! My daddy is cooler than your daddy yipee !
Sallix Nov 3rd 2008 11:26AM
Yeah? well my dad can beat up your dad!
but yeah this fanboyism needs to stop. The WoW insider podcast is a great pod casts and the shows at wcradio are of top quality. At the end of the day I don't think either side really cares about who you choose to support. and hell you can still listen to both of the shows due to the magic of archiving.

The upstream link goes to the 10/25 show. The 11/1 show doesn't seem to be working on upstream at all either...it just says "Found."
Mike Schramm Nov 3rd 2008 11:11AM
Fixed the link, checking with Ustream now to see what's up with the show on their site. Meanwhile, you can listen to the show or download the mp3 above.

wow radio sucks....they need to get on topic and stop sucking. Wowinsider podcast was nice without any wowradio noobs.
with mike, brk and (carebear) big bear butt it was a fun show to listen to.
I listen to BRK podcast and I don't even have a hunter.
Mike stay away from wowradio until they grow up.

I don't give a crap who's in the right or not with the entire debate, but I do know that WoW Radio put an "Important Announcement" into the podcast feed for the show, which I actually listened to as I thought it would be important, only to hear special kids getting libel and slander mixed up and pretending to act like this was a real legal issue as an excuse to advertise their new show, which they intend to put on the same feed.
I cancelled my subscription to that feed there and then...
MaDsPLoiTz Nov 3rd 2008 5:11PM
Libel is written.
Slander is spoken.
Dean Nov 3rd 2008 7:13PM
Not quite. Libel is 'published'. As a podcast is something made available in a permanent format, it counts as published and any remarks are potentially libellous.
joggoms Nov 6th 2008 4:45PM
Yeah, I deleted that feed too. I thought the important announcement would have been something important.
monkeystick Nov 3rd 2008 11:59AM
Ah.. I'm happy there is a way to download and mp3 of the show.
Keep 'em coming and thanks.

I know what one I will be listening to live, and that is going to be the WoW Insider Show. I'll probably give the counter-programming a listen on Turp's new show.
Also, the idea that Mike "slandered" WCRadio is absolutely childish and the twisting of words beyond the reaches of some politicians.
FireStar Nov 3rd 2008 12:11PM
I listen to All your shows. It's always nice to listen about wow while programming. Thanks for not yelling 'hey' at the beginning :).
Deminetix Nov 3rd 2008 1:04PM
LOL did you guys hear the host say "big red butt" ?
I was almost waiting for him to get mixed up with BRK and BBB
josh Nov 3rd 2008 1:18PM
there's another game that 5 devs talk with the community regularly and give good explanations, they're also very active in the community, they even have some CMs join in community created events. GC though is the only one for wow, if you want to know the other game it's City Of Heroes/Villains and the biggest dev is the lead dev Positron
qann Nov 3rd 2008 1:25PM
Drama aside- did Mike stay by his mic the whole show this time?
He addmitted to walking away mid-show it after the first non-WR show, and I KNOW I heard him walk away in the second.
Also, yay fixing bugs.
Also, no Turpster is bad news. I hope the show is still good (last week's was the weakest show in a long time).
Mike Schramm Nov 3rd 2008 2:44PM
Haha I've only walked away from the mic once, during the first Ustream show, when a plumber had to come to my door. I didn't walk away this time, or during any of the other shows. :)
In fact, during one show my iPhone rang in front of me, and when I couldn't get it to stop right away, I tossed it across the room and missed my bed -- it slammed into the wall and fell on the floor and I had to go back to the podcast wondering if my iPhone was broken.
It turned out it was ok, that little thing is durable.
