As evidenced by zombies and Necropoli, the time of the Lich King is nearly upon us. Most players who intend to have a copy of the game preordered have already done so. Soon we'll be zipping open our prized expansion and ready to install. Well, most of us anyway.Zachriel of Kirin Tor found a surprise today when he checked the status of his preordered game. Without notification the complete order of two collectors editions and two regular Wrath packages had been canclled. He was upset that he did not receive any communication that his ordered had been canceled. Some suggested that it may have been an issue with a credit card or some other technical problem. Most of the posters indicated that their orders were still active. But it's time for Tuesday maintenance; could it really hurt to peek at your order status?

Well on the opposite end of this spectrum. I know someone who received notification yesterday (11/3), that their copy was ready to be picked up. On top of that it says that he only has 8 days (which would be 11/11) to pick it up or he loses his pre-order.

I got my bestbuy notification of the third as well. ok i headed over there, on a wing and prayer... nah no chance till the 13th.
later that day, I recieved a mail telling me "whoops sorry its the 13th" all good, I'm too lazy to drive to milwaukee and pick it up there at midnight in line.
mmmm 1030am at bestbuy =)

That's just weird, and I can only assume it's a billing issue unless they ordered from someplace that just screwed up and had to cancel orders from legit customers.

My Collector's Edition at gamestop.com suddenly went from "preorder" status to "backordered". Considering I placed my order as soon as the release date was announced I'm gonna be a bit miffed if i have to settle for the regular edition. Still waiting for an email back from the customer service folks...I think i'm screwed.

I ordered from GS on the first day as well. Mine went from preorder, to backordered (for the last month or so), and has now returned to preordered, ships 11/13. So with any luck you will experience the same.

Perhaps it was an issue with suppliers? I mean a problem along the lines of some website or store manager being told "oh yeah, those 1500 CE copies we promised you? Yeah, sorry can't make that happen." because of an overwhelming order elsewhere.
Yeah, I have a receipt and I'm picking it up at midnight. Nothing left to chance here

Mine did the same (pre-ordered/backordered/pre-ordered). I'm not ashamed to admit that I've been checking it every day for the last 2 weeks.

I preordered from Wal Mart of all places when I found out I couldn't order anywhere else. After Blizzcon I find this to be a grand fiasco. I still have several copies of the Burning Crusade Collector's Edition that no one wants...

I thought CE's were limited to one copy per customer. Maybe that was his/her problem? Either way, shame on the outlet that didn't warn them.

Well, in the amazon website it says you can order just 1 CE for each Household, if you don't follow that rule, your orders will be canceled...

I preordered a copy of the WotLK: CE from Amazon the day it was announced. Luckily I checked on it about a month ago because they moved it to my 'saved' queue and said that it was no longer available. When I asked them why I never received an email concerning this they gave me a bunch of hooey so I just got another copy from another site.

Mine were cancelled too. No notice, just cancelled. (online Gamestop.)
