Meet WoW Insider at the Wrath midnight launch

We've got a full list of meetup locations after the break -- I'll be in Chicago, co-lead Dan O'Halloran will be at the Fry's in Anaheim covering the Blizzard event there (Chase Christian will be in Santa Barbara, also in CA), and Elizabeth Harper will be in Austin, where Blizzard devs will be meeting and greeting as well. We've also got reader meetups planned in North Carolina and Minnesota (where BBB will be passing out buttons), and our own Jennie Lees will be picking up Wrath in Edinburgh, Scotland. And if you're in Orlando, BRK and Mania from Petopia are holding their own event down there.
Stay tuned to this post for more updates (if we've missed anyone on the team, they'll add their information here), and feel free to organize your own meetups and events in the comments. The second expansion launches next week -- let's party!
Please note: for places that serve alcoholic beverages, you will need to be 21+ to attend, but all of the meetups will eventually move to retail spaces which are open to the public, so join us later in the evening if you can't come to the bar. Children under 10 should probably be accompanied by an adult. All times are for Wednesday the 12th of November going up to midnight/early morning on Thursday the 13th.
Please also note that if you haven't reserved the game yet, you may not be able to purchase it from these locations. We're not selling the game -- we're just going to pick our copies up and report on the launch, and we're inviting you to join us if you're in the area.

There are four computer game stores (two in one Mall even) not counting the Targets and Wal-Marts within a short drive of my home in Suffolk, VA. I haven't decided which one to order a Collector's Edition from since I used to have a regular store in Maryland I would order things from until I moved here a year ago.

For those unfamiliar with the Raleigh, NC meeting area:
The North Hills shopping center is directly North of I-440 on Six Forks Road. It is easy to get to and traffic should die off after 6PM.
I believe you want the first light Northbound after you leave the interstate, take a left into the shopping center.
The lane will split several ways, the one I usually take leads down a small ramp in the middle of the road, you have the right of way so just continue through cautiously. Once in the lower parking areas you will be forced to turn right. The elevator/escalator you will need you will see off to your left after you go down the ramp. Take those up to the surface. You should then see the Fox and Hound as well as the Gamestop next to it across the courtyard.
The Gamestop's number there is 919.781.4855
As of 4:35 EST Nov 6th they have no preorders available for the Collector's Edition of Wrath.
If anyone plays TCG I will bring cards I have picked up to trade away for loot cards.
The meetup will happen 666 days after Burning Crusade was released... Unless my math is wrong.

Anyone planning on going to NYC? I’m working with Best Buy on the huge World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King midnight release event on November 12th in New York City. If you haven’t heard yet, go to http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/misc/wowx2-midnight.xml.
I wanted to give you a sneak peek at some of the latest details. Blizzard CEO/President and Cofounder Mike Morhaime and Executive Vice President, Product Development Frank Pearce will be at this NYC event. There will be a chance to meet several World of Warcraft game developers and have your game autographed. The entire event is hosted by Geoff Keighley and will feature interviews, prize giveaways (including Plantronics headsets) and World of Warcraft trivia – along with a few Blood Elves roaming the line searching for Alliance and Horde members! Trust me, you will want to be at Best Buy at midnight when the first game arrives for sale. Don't forget to pre-order your game on http://www.BestBuy.com and check out http://www.bestbuy.com/midnightopenings for more details!

Any idea wether or not the giveaways will include blizzcon polar bear mounts for those of us who missed blizzcon?
If not I have a midnight gamestop launch about 2 miles from home that's alot easier to get to than the midtown NYC location . . .

I am in Watertown, NY and the Gamestop here is having a midnight opening but the festivities start at 10. I got a call from them that sounded automated and they want people to come in costumes. They are also having drawings and prizes! Can't wait to pick up my pre-order at midnight tomorrow!

Frys in Renton, WA (South of Seattle) claims to have 650 copies of Collectors Edition onhand for midnight release. I'm sure there will be a ton of local WOW gamers there for the release. I believe there are about 1,000 parking spots to choose from. I'm picking up up my preordered CE out in Covington at the Gamestop midnight release tho so I'll miss the madness.
