I think everyone is jumping the gun here, by a fair whack. We haven't heard much on dual specs (afaik). For all we know dual spec might just be the ability to save 2 talent trees (and/or UI configs) just for faster switching. They haven't said that you will be able to switch real time in an instance and may still require you to go to a trainer.
For the Pure vs. Hybrid DPS argument: I bring 2 mages, same spec, gear and everything to a raid. Mage 1 wipes the floor with Mage 2. Wow, skill ? wtf? Yeah, your class doesn't make you the best you have to know how to play.
At the moment pallies and druids can chuck on their healing gear if need be in an instance where only 1 tank is required, do you see them filling raids at the moment? No. On a 10 man raid you're still going to want 2 tanks, atleast 2 healers and the rest dps. If you're a hybrid you're that spec for a reason, you can't switch spec from dps to tank mid fight and change gear once the tank goes down, you're there doing a job just like anyone else. Hybrid may be able to throw up an extremely underpowered heal every now and then, so what? The DPS they would be doing instead of the heal is probably more important anyway.
Stop QQ'ing because you aren't favored anymore. Some people need to grow up. Blizzard has always said the aim of the game is social, now you can play with your friends that like playing the class they want to play instead of the class they have to play. GG Blizz!
