My jaw dropped a little when I read about the CoH cooldown. I have really learned to love this spell (after defiantly rejecting it for IDS until they made it a smart heal). I was always under pressure by guilds that I raided with to pick it up over IDS. I have to say though that since the switch, healing has involved a lot less participation on the part of my brain. Smart heals made me a dumb healer I guess because all I had to really worry about was mana. That is true at least for battleground healing. Nobody spams CoH through a long fight and gets away with it. "Sorry guys I'm OOM for a while... luckily I overhealed everyone at the beginning of the fight...so you should be fine."
I am most likely going to drop the talent along with DP and probably GS and move back up the Disc tree a little. All this means to me is more flash heal spamming. I have also considered the holy nova glyph as a solution to certain aoe healing moments, but I hate the idea of not being able to use it to farm meat and lower level things that I need.
They should have just put a ton of threat on CoH... that would have taught people to not do 10k healing per second.
The people that actually care what the meters say deserve to have their lollies taken away anyway.
CoH was fun while it lasted, but now its back to IDS for sure, and I'll still keep people alive with no problems. Groups will just have to learn how to mitigate damage again instead of letting everyone share it and a priest spam coh it.
