More Wrath deals around the world
We've rounded up a few more Wrath of the Lich King deals if you haven't pulled the trigger on a preorder yet.- Newegg has the game available for the low price of $36.99 with free shipping, which is a couple bucks cheaper than Amazon. (thanks, Lîlîth of Crushridge!)
- Reader Tyler G tell us that Gametraders, a chain in Australia, will be selling the game with a 60 day timecard and poster for AU$79.95. Usually the game is AU$60 and the timecard is AU$40, so it's a deal.
- Commenter Rey tells us that Canada's Futureshop is offering 40% off if you trade-in two games. We don't see that on their site (there is a $100 costume contest though and a free hat!), but we'll take his word for it. A free hat!
- GoGamer.com is selling the game plus a set of headphones for $44.90 total.
- Gamestop is offering (as they do with most new games) an extra 20% trade-in on any games put towards a preorder or purchase of Wrath. (thanks Falstad!)

I heard about the futureshop trade-in too. I'm going there at the midnight release, does anyone happen to know what games are applicable? I've got some at home that I rarely play that I'd be willing to trade-in. I'm going for the collector's edition though..so I'm not sure if it would still apply.

No real idea. In the flyer it just has an asterix that in the fine print reads "Select games for trade in only". Hope they wont expect you to turn in two brand new games, and if they are anything like EB Games, good luck turning in most PC games what have keys/online components.

I saw the trade-in on the site a few days ago when I checked it out. Seems its disappeared...
Anyways:
The Source by Circuit City (Canada):
44.99 for Wrath
49.99 for Wrath + Logitech headset

I'll be standing outside my local Futureshop at midnight waiting to buy my copy and get my free hat. :)

Nice to see Future Shop and Best Buy Canada are charging an extra $5 for the right to purchase the game at their stores. No doubt due to "exchange rate differences". Funny how when BC shipped it was the same price in Canada as the US, and the exchange rate was much worse then...... Also funny how the price went up by $5 about a week after Blizz announced the street date.
Amazon.ca has it for $35 if you don't need to have it first thing on the 13th. No free hat, but those are probably left over from the BC launch, they were giving them away then as well.
Caaras Nov 7th 2008 3:31PM
If I remember, 2006 the exchange rate was about 80-90c, and right now it`s 85c. So no, the exchange rate was not much more then. It was pretty much the same.
Caaras Nov 7th 2008 3:37PM
Damn forgot it was Jan 07 and not Jan 06. KK, Jan 07 Rate was 1.17593182 US per 1 CAD. In Oct it was 1.18475000 US per 1 CAD.

just got off the phone with my local Gamestop... they have some kind of "bonus" box with items that came in, but he isn't allowed to open it till the first unit is sold on launch day.
Cess Nov 7th 2008 3:15PM
In Finland Gamestop sells it for 9,90€ when you trade in 1 XBOX or PS3 game.
Kalerender Nov 7th 2008 3:46PM
Currently preorders (even this close to release) through Harvey Norman in Australia will get you a free carved wooden box. No idea on dimensions, but it does look purdy.
And if the guy in charge of the games department is a total WoW addict, they'll sometimes offer to let you pick up the game on the thursday, rather then waiting till friday ;)
popkin Nov 7th 2008 4:18PM
Not on the game but Gamestop is doing a deal where if you get the WoW gaming Mouse you can get a quest card for the CCG and a 'buy one WoW shirt get one free' coupon to use at Jinx

Game Traders is the way to go!
I've had my pre order sitting there since the known pre order date.
For normal edition it's set at $48.95 single price
$88.95 for the CE and then the
$60 for the Normal Edition + the time card.
I think they have the best deals for Timecards anyway, I brought one today for $35 with my Game Traders members card and they were on the shelf for a normal price of $36.
EB games is a huge rip off, $60 for the normal edition with a poster.
and $99 for the collectors. (Back at the start of janurary their estimated price for CE was $199 lol)

Game traders in Australia is a joke.
I preorder my copy of the limited edition weeks ago, only to get a phone call yesterday telling me they could not supply me a copy now. It too late to get a limited addition now from any other supplier so i have to miss out.
Oh, but i can get a refund if i want.
What a joke.
