Mystery continent spotted

Sure, it might be a bit early to speculate about the third expansion, given that the second isn't even out yet (five days!). But I'm going to do it anyway; we do know they've got more planned.
One of the most enduring theories for a place we might see in a new expansion (besides the Emerald Dream) is the Undermine, home of the goblins. The Undermine sits on (technically, under) the Isle of Kezan, and where's that? In Azeroth's southern seas, right where our mystery blob is. Throw in the Maelstrom itself and a few more islands, and you've got yourself a pretty nice set of zones for an expansion.
So is Kezan what we're seeing in this picture? The theory is not without its difficulties. For one thing, the blob is way too big; Kezan is described as a small island, certainly not bigger than Northrend. But what if we flip the picture upside-down? This makes sense, because the bay in what I'm taking for the Eastern Kingdoms also cuts the wrong way, south instead of north. Then the mystery blob at the bottom becomes Northrend, and what we were taking as Northrend is now a reasonably likely candidate for Kezan, being much smaller.
Alright, I think that's enough unfounded speculation out of me. What do you guys think this is? Am I making far too much out of a tiny texture on a random book in a corner of the game, or is this the first hint of WoW 4.0?

nop, its just Kezan.
Camaris Nov 7th 2008 6:56PM
Azeroth without anyone living in it would also mean there is no Maelstrom, and no Sundering, but just the single ancient landmass (possibly broken up a bit by tectonics ;P).
Gnosh Nov 8th 2008 6:46PM
"The world as untouched by mortals" would imply no elves- so no sundering. Meaning one continent and small islands.

look at the two whiteboard drawings at the bottom of the page... from the behind the scenes dvd.
yes it's kezan

That WoWWiki link leads me to believe two things:
1. There will be another THREE expansions - Emerald Dream, Maelstrom, Kezan - in that order.
2. Or, there could be a completely different idea behind it: Emerald Dream and Maelstrom come out at the same time as one expansion (Makes sense, because when the sundering happened, it was because of Malfurion Stormrage in the emerald dream about 1/3 of the time, and The Sundering sent the Highborne that still followed Queen Azshara into the depths of the sea, creating their Naga City, Naz'jatar [or something like that]). Also, the island on the whiteboard looks a bit too small for any REAL exploration / dungeons.. It could just open up with something else.. Blizz has thousands of ideas they probably have stored somewhere in headquarters.. like the Kul'Tiras Marines, they could come back as ghosts and ally themselves with... say... the Silithid (just pulling random ideas together) and Blizz can revamp the Ahn'Quiraj expansion.
Again, just throwing ideas together.
Hopefully, IF the expansions go in the order I said before (Emerald Dream, Maelstrom, Kezan), then we should be able to play more "Hero Classes" (or, in this case, RACES) : Furbolg, Naga, Goblin.
How does that sound?
draeth Nov 7th 2008 6:09PM
goblins should be a playable race if were going to kezan next
Valorum Nov 7th 2008 6:10PM
Well, wowwiki says it connects to Kul Tiras, mabe it's only part of what could be more Azeroth expansion?
Graargh Nov 7th 2008 6:10PM
Oh, also, I forgot to add this.
An Emerald Dream expansion would be a slap in the face to the people who level their characters to 80 in Wrath!
Substitute South Seas / Maelstrom / Undermine / Kezan for "Emerald Dream" in the above sentence, as desired.
elvendude Nov 7th 2008 6:55PM
Huh? How so? I would love to play in Emerald Dream as an 80.
Also, that expansion is as good as confirmed for either next or the one after next.
Turk Nov 7th 2008 6:11PM
Yes, it's Kezan, and i bet it come in with Wotlk !
Guido666 Nov 7th 2008 6:13PM
Wow, us Blizzard fans sure are attentative to details.
Great find!
kozom Nov 7th 2008 6:13PM
in my opinoin, i believe last xpac will reveal all of azeroth to us (kezan, maelstrom, zandalar). and POSSIBLY throw in the emerald dream, according to the lack of content on that area...
drypulse Nov 8th 2008 1:28AM
as long as this game makes money, there will be no last expansion
Alkaios Nov 8th 2008 1:42AM

This right here is why I love Wowinsider.
monk3yguy Nov 15th 2008 4:17PM
the southern area could be the Undermine, the goblin capital city.
Clbull Nov 7th 2008 6:17PM
Its most likely the Isle of Kezan, where Undermine (the Goblin capital) is located.
Gleb 70 Draka [A] Nov 7th 2008 6:19PM
Most likely Emerald Dream
I would really want to have Maelstrom as an expansion though
Go on a boat from SW / Zepplin from Orgrimmar
Cinematic of Hurricane and you get sucked underwater
Argent Dawn has a huge bubble underwater and you get thrown in
Great idea :)
kozom Nov 7th 2008 6:26PM
i would love that!!!!! but since the maelstrom is not leaking into azeroth too much, and not killign us all while the emerald dream is slowly leaking in (visist moonglade barrow dens) i think it will go emerald dream then maelstrom.
also, night elves hate naga more than the argent dawn, so we'd probably be most of the bases down there...be cool if for the xpac you could breathe underwater and there were underwater mounts.
Kibibi Nov 7th 2008 6:20PM
Who's to say that it isn't Undermine? I'm sure no one thought we'd get the island of Quel'Danas(sp?).
