It's a fair point. I'm not sure I know of anyone that picked a profession for enjoyment. In my mind there are two reasons for choosing a profession - the BoP items you can make for your character, and the gold it brings to your pocket. Since a lot of the crafted items are now becoming BoE there is no longer any reason to pick a profession for the BoP items (though it may be cheaper to craft them for yourself rather than buy them), and so the only reason is the gold it will generate. I suppose with this change Blacksmithing might now have more scope for making money - the only spanner Blizzard has thrown in the works is that the market will likely be flooded by the epic BoE drops from Naxx. I guess it will depend on how good the crafted epics will be in relation to the Naxx BoE epics as to whether you are likely to make any money from them.
