Zombies taking over Blizzard's offices now? Yesterday, as we uploaded our redesign, we joked that Zombies had attacked our site, but now it appears that the main World of Warcraft page is completely and totally down. We got a tip earlier today that part of the site had gone down, but now it appears the whole thing is out.
Maybe a redesign inc there, too? Maybe it's down because of the realm issues we saw this morning? Or maybe it's just out for regular maintenance? Forums are still up and running just fine. We'll keep an eye on it.
Update: False alarm. It's back up. Site doesn't look any different to me.

I find that peculiar - for maintenance they'd usually redirect it to a static HTML page on a different page that says "Maintenance" or similar...seems like they might be having a problem with their DNS/Nameservers more than likely.

Redisign please! For some reason, I never liked the background and changes they made when BC came out! WoW vanilla site was MUCH better!
I hope they improve with WotLK~!

The redesign is awesome.
The dev team who did the upgrade deserves the rest of the day off. Or better yet they should have next thursday off so they can grab their copies of WoTLK and start grinding.

It was down yesterday too for a few min. I had to go to the blizz store using google, cause I couldn't enter using WoW main page. Maybe they are updating the webpage to a new format or are having real problems with it.

Which was more than slightly frustrating as I waited 45+ minutes for it to come back up just long enough to hearth out of enemy territory before heading to work. Needless to say, I'm at work and my toon is still in a bad place.
That'll be the last time I say "oh, it's ok to disconnect here. I'll be back in 15 minutes anyway..."

I log out in enemy territory all the time. Just find a hiding spot. :-)

I think they started the whole zombie thing too early - they shoulda started everything THIS week.
Now there's a lull in WOTLK hype/events and unless they have something big planned SOON, like the Dark Portal invasion event, then WOTLK will wind up going off with merely a whimper...
They need some sort of one-time event where we can all get a Tabard for helping out.
Idea: Have Elite Scourge attack Stormwind and Orgrimmar Harbors/Zepplin Towers - since that's where everyone is heading on Day 1 anyway.
Quest: Kill X Scourge. Reward - special tabard to show your heroism... just like the Dark Portal event.
Something along those lines.
Have Thrall and SW King (whatshisname?) involved heavily too.

I agree. The whole zombie event was awesome, but it's kinda ended up on the thigh... if you know what I mean.

It's back up and working now, but I noticed something (maybe not new, I don't go to the main site very often). The logo or whatever up in the top left corner is a third frozen...
