WoW Insider Show live with Phaelia of Resto4Life tomorrow afternoon

Our weekly podcast (we're working on a new graphic for the new theme, don't worry) goes live again as usual tomorrow afternoon at 3:30pm Eastern over on Ustream, and this week we are thrilled to welcome one of our favorite bloggers: Phaelia of Resto4Life. Listeners have requested some Resto talk, so we invited everyone's favorite tree Druid to come and let us know what things are like from the healer's perspective. And speaking of healers, we also invited a Priest and a Paladin along: Matt "Matticus" Low from World of Matticus (and our own Spritual Guidance column) will be on as a man of the cloth, and our producer Elizabeth Harper will be aboard as a woman of the plate. Looks like I'll have to rep Resto Shammy so we can get all the healers in the mix.
Additionally, we'll be talking about patch 3.0.3, and all the chaos in the runup to the expansion, including where we're going to get our copies, and what we're going to do right after install. And we'll take a look back at the beta, and see if there's anything else we'd like to say about it one last time before we step into the same place on the live realms. If you've got questions or comments for the show, feel free to drop us an email at theshow at wowinsider dot com, and you might even hear it on the air.
And of course you're welcome to join us during the recording for the live chat, our in-show polls, or a (hopefully not shortened this week) aftershow session with the guests. We'll be live at 3:30pm Eastern (time zone calc) on the Ustream page, or you can just join us right back here -- there's an embedded stream right after the break. See you then!

Whohoo. Go Phaelia!
Stefanovick Nov 7th 2008 2:31PM
Agreed. I only heard TB's side, since I generally listen to the iTunes subscription. They seem much more angry than anyone at WOWInsider.
It's a shame, and everyone loves Turpster and Ducor, but they all gotta relax.
matty Nov 7th 2008 3:07PM
They weren't angry, they were confused. Then they were angry when people started airing dirty laundry.
Thankfully the last WI was much better quality, I'll have a hard time choosing between WI live and PUG!.
Stefanovick Nov 7th 2008 2:54PM
I guess I missed the dirty laundry, and only heard the angry. I think that the wowinsider podcast is of the best about wow, with Casually Hardcore a close second...
Sad that I missed meeting the gang at Blizzcon, gotta try again next year!

Hey I just listened to WoW Radio's retort about you guys talking
about Turbster and the like. I think what you said was generally a
mistake but they don't seem to think so, calling it "slander"
I'm excited for PUG and the future of WoW Insider show equally.
How soon are you going to have an iTunes feed up now that your feed
is being replaced by PUG?
matty Nov 7th 2008 3:23PM
TB overly dramatic ? Thats pretty much a given :p
But given his current situation I don't really fault him for it. Both sides dropped their respective balls, either way by my count I gained an extra (good) wow podcast and I hope it drives them both to better things :)

Our iTunes feed is almost done -- our designers are working on making sure it works, and they've been busy with the site redesign. Sorry it's taken so long -- I'd like it to be done by now, too, but it's out of my hands.

Any chance of getting some better audio quality on the new podcasts? Audio quality was excellent when you were with wcradio. I recently found the new feed and downloaded the last few episodes that I missed and I have to say that I had a hard time listening to them due to the extremely poor audio quality.
Mike Schramm Nov 7th 2008 3:15PM
I would say the audio quality improved greatly on the last podcast -- we worked for a while to iron out some of the wrinkles in the system. Listen in tomorrow and I think you'll like what it sounds like now.

I think that there was a lot of confusion about what was said last week. Some people think TB is over reacting or being over dramatic, but you got to keep in mind that WCRadio is his station.
If I had a station and someone said something that I viewed as a false accusation, I would be upset too. I think that a lot would be solved with a phone call, but thats just my opinion.
On a side note, Mike, you talked about other guests to have on the show. Graylo from Gray Matter is one of the best known Moonkin bloggers out there. Having a moonkin myself, I would love to hear him sometime.

Hey Mike... I just want to say that I enjoy your Saturday shows and will miss Turpster.. but if you have to go on.. you have to go on... Can I suggest BRK as perhaps a new co-host on the show... He brings a high amount of energy to each and every one of his podcasts and when he is on the Wow Insider Show... it is just golden...
Also.. future show topics... how about some Machinama discussion?
Peace.

Doesn't matter I don't listen to the Insider podcast since Mike often doesn't have a clue what he is talking about.
thank god the people who work on the site know more than him.
lol Nov 7th 2008 10:36PM
lol Vidi.
Up voted and QFT'd for that one.
PuG all the way baby!

I'd have to agree with the above comments. The only reason I am here now is to see if there is any clarity as to why Mike was talking rubbish about WoW Radio. I mean, WoW Insider is generally a collection of intellectually bereft content mashed together with some humour and exclusives. The only writer I've placed any weight in is Matt Low and that is simply because I have worked with him previously.
As far as I am concerned, WoW Insider made a massive mistake moving away from WoW Radio, due to the added cost and competition. Previously, you had reduced costs and ZERO competition, meaning you could have the entirety of the WoW Radio community and WoW Insider community at your finger tips. Now, you have to compete with people who have a man with professional broadcasting experience at its head, whilst you have a guy who doesn't understand what he is saying 75% of the time leading you forward. I'd like to see some justification as to that decision, because whoever made it was on drugs at the time.

TB talks bollocks. Hes either QQ'ing at Wow or having a lovefest over Warhammer - its Wowradio I couldnt give two shits about Warhammer = I turn his shit off.
Bosk Nov 10th 2008 5:18AM
How do you download the show? Have you stopped putting up mp3 links?
I dont use Flash.
