I know that mages get their dalaran teleport spells at 71, but where does it start? will we have to corpse run to crystalsong to get it?

Nope, at 71 mages can teleport themselves, and at level 74 they can make a portal for themselves and others.

Mages can teleport to Dalaran at 71. They must complete a quest in the Dragonblight (Alliance goes to the night-elf encampment west of the Temple, dunno about horde.) The quest is fairly simple: wade through a mess of nasty anti-magic mobs, stand on a point, and a channel for a bit. When I did it in beta there was a nasty arcane-immune elemental guarding the point you have to stand at... much to the dissapointment of my arcane mage. :(
