Breakfast Topic: What? That's it?

Well, at the moment, it looks like... nothing. I mean, there was that phenomenally fun zombie invasion. I know a few of you found it annoying and disruptive, but come on! It was a game-changing event that really shook up Azeroth, even if only for a few days. When the zombie infestation ended earlier than we anticipated anticlimactically, we sort of expected something better to come. Well, it's been about a week now, and there's nothing new. Sure, the scourge invasion's still happening, but after hundreds and hundreds of Necrotic Runes and nothing else to buy, it's really kind of boring.
So was that it? An inspired zombie invasion and then nothing? That's kind of like running out of gas nearing the finish line. It's like opening the champagne before the guests arrive. If the zombie invasion had started a few days ago, I think the timing would've been absolutely perfect. Instead, our excitement (and sometimes frustration) got built up, escalating over a few days, then... poof. Nothing. It's like having a great first course of a meal and having the next course arrive so late that we've lost our appetite. How do you guys feel? Did Blizzard blow the timing of the zombie event? What else do they have planned? Whatever it is, they've only got a couple of days to unleash it.

I am hoping something happens.
Jiriki Nov 10th 2008 8:04AM
I doubt there will be anything at all.
Wukki Nov 10th 2008 8:04AM
There is still 2.5 days left. Something could happen, even if its small.
Though personally, the zombie event happened a bit too early. in my opinion.

I think the zombie invasion was perfectly timed but i have a feeling something has gone wrong.
We all saw when the scourge invasion temporarily stopped and suddenly restarted again. I'm starting to get the impression that the next phase of the wrath invasion was set to occur then. I'm suspicious however that Blizz withdrew it for some reason, possibly because the zombie invasion wasn't recieved well, maybe because it didn't work due to lack of testing but it does seem odd the amount of time between the zombie invasion and what we're all expecting to come next.
It might be a totally silly opinion but i do get the impression that something has gone wrong and the next stage got delayed in a hotfix. It seems especially odd that they didn't take advantage of the busy weekend before launch.

I agree and I submit this another indication that Blizzard canceled the invasion earlier than originally planned.

I've got to say i'm still disinclined to think the Zombie invasion was anything other than as intended. It seemed perfectly timed. If it had gone on any longer it would've gotten stale fast I think.
As it is it was a perfect event imo, having to fight my way out/in to towns to achieve stuff. Forming groups of pally's priests and such to clear out stormwind trade district so AH'ing could continue and lower levels could hide in the bank was tremendous fun but last longer than it did? Nah! It's a shame for anyone that missed it, or those that only glimpsed it and ran away to post on forums about how awful it is but for those of us in the middle taking advantage of it it was all it could be tbh.
Now to show the Lich king who's boss eh?

All I want to know is Where are all the cleansers now? during the event you couldn't walk ten feet before you'd get cleansed, now I ask for a healer and-silence. ask for someone to cleanse me for a strat run-silence, say i'm exalted and you can have all the stones if you cleanse this annoying disease that stops regeneration of health-silence.

It’s almost amusing how the GRIEFER event came at Hallowe’en and then goes away and there’s nothing during the November timeframe when the GRIEFER event could have actually taken place instead.
I probably would have liked the GRIEFER event (Might have actually enjoyed it too) if it was during November because it wouldn’t have interfered with all the good stuff happening during Hallowe’en.

@vazhkatsi...there is an item you can farm in STV called Jungle Remedy that will accomplish this for you. It has a 1min cooldown after use and sometimes can take 2...maybe 3 applications before it kicks in. It's very useful. I use it when I'm farming in there with my gorilla. I always carry 30-40 of them when in Startholme. Problem solved. :)

Did Blizz even do anything titanic for BC? I think not ;)
But, back to begging for my Polar Bear
realmreaver Nov 10th 2008 8:11AM
Blizzard didn't do anything to awesome BUT it was closer and fully implemented like a week or two before the expansion NOT almost a month earlier.
I don't give a damn what a blue from Blizzard said. They and anyone else would lie to if told to do so by their boss to the public. The zombie event was haulted at LEAST a day early and concidering how fast the build up and climax which was anything but; I think they totally blew the timing and the entire event by nearly two weeks.
The cure should have appreared this past weekend. The public who understood that this was a one time deal (especially after the whiners got through with it.) played along and enjoyed it.
I think the majoirty of the community who actually cried on the forums is just sad little people that should not even need to play this game if they are THAT addicted to it.
period.
Gods just thinking about that travisty erks me so.

Actually, they did have an event. Legion invaded through the Dark Portal, Doom Lord Kazzak attacked the capital cities, and they had a comical machinima news report detailing the incident.
It wasn't anything amazing, neccesarily, but it seemed more dramatic than this event, which, by now, feels like nothing is even happening. This event is mostly just a rehash of the 1.11 Naxxramas event, with a zombie infestation that started and/or ended about two weeks two soon.
If something doesn't happen soon, and last long enough for people to get a good chance to participate, it'll be disappointing.
Super Guest Man 9000 Nov 10th 2008 3:25PM
Small correction, it was Highlord Kruul who attacked the capitols after Kazaak reactivated the Dark Portal. After the attacks died down Kruul took the place of Kazaak.

I had heard a rumor that Stormwind and Orgamar was going to be burned down. I haven't seen anything leading up to it to be true. That would really be a big world change event for the out coming of Wrath.
Flairy Nov 10th 2008 8:21AM
You were probably hearing about BigRedKitty's event to 'burn sw to the ground' but ... it ended before it got to that point due to server instability.
Kalerender Nov 10th 2008 8:25AM
The leaked sound-files? Yeah thats what I'm hoping they'll do.
Even the quests in warsong hold indicate burning of the cities.
