New PvE realm open for transfers

In anticipation of the Wrath of the Lich King launch this Thursday, Blizzard has opened up a brand-new US PvE realm called Fizzcrank. Some of the higher-population realms will be eligible for transfer, presumably in an attempt to lower populations so the realms don't crash and burn in a few days. So far, according to the breaking news box, players on the following realms are permitted to flee:
- Aggramar
- Alexstrasza
- Arygos
- Blackhand
That list comes suspiciously close to the beginning of the alphabet, though, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's a truncated portion of a bigger list. Blizzard is saying to go to the account management page to check if you're eligible. Also no word yet on what battlegroup Fizzcrank will be a part of. Stay tuned for updates.

As far as I can see, Dalaran US is not on the approved list.

I think we can probably expect a whole new battlegroup of free transfer servers.
At least in the US. I think they are trying to dilute all realms to below the 'high' population threshold. Since when 11 million people who are casually on all of the sudden have a reason to be on at the same time...
Bad things happen to servers, isn't that right BRK?

The thing about (L)Aggramar is the spike times (sounds obvious, I know). When everyone is raiding, the queues pop up. Lately this hasn't been as much of a problem, but whether that is due to fewer guilds raiding this close to Wrath or people actually using these transfers remains to be seen. I transferred from a tiny server (Mok'Nathal) to this giant, and I'm not about to leave my awesome guild to transfer to another small pond, even IF I could do the AQ event on it and get one of the coolest mounts in the game. I think that's the major issue for a lot of people, they are too connected in their current server to transfer. Blizzard needs to offer more incentives to those solo-levellers and people new to the game who are less connected to a single server and more to just the game. If those people transfer, the raiding guilds could remain intact.

Alexstrasza isn't showing as having any free transfers either at this time.

They should try opening a few new Oceanic realms, prime time in the last week have seen at least 4 out of that short list LOCKED with long queues, it's not only Oceanic customers that use it, plenty of Americans do also.
But then again, we have to start 100pg threads to get any attention on matters like this, I sense allot of issues in the coming weeks.

They've changed the transfer page to:

Great, another new realm that will be dead after a couple months. Why can't they just transfer them to some of the dangerously low pop servers that already exist.

Hopefully the forcefully remove Alliance off Alex, it's aggravating that Horde have to sit in a queue, when every Horde city is a ghost town, and you see few Horde characters around.
