Battle for Orgrimmar and Stormwind videos

You can see the Orgrimmar version above, and the Stormwind version past the cut below. Neither video does the chaos of the event justice, but no video ever will. It's something you need to be there for, I think. No video gives you the "holy crap, did that just happen!?" feel of Varian Wrynn leaping through the air and tearing an abomination asunder. The fight between Thrall and Garrosh is ridiculously cool, too. I highly recommend trying to see these events before they go away, but these videos will do for now, and our thanks go out to Chrono of Silvermoon-EU and Ben H. for them.

Does Garrosh really win the fight or does he just momentarily have an advantage and then the Scourge attack?
I guess I should just log in as my horde guy and check it out.

That fight was pretty epic. And Thrall doesn't technically lose, but he IS losing pretty bad when they're interrupted.

It was nighttime on my server and the Org invasion looked much cooler with a nighttime backdrop to the sky and general lighting.

Kind of reminds me of Goku vs Vegeta, something always interrupts the fight before it can be decisive.

Meh - I went and watched the SW harbor event for a bit. The mobs are level 71 and 72 elites that hit like level 65s.
So after a few minutes, I went back to doing something else and didn't care anymore.

This is one of my most memorable events in WoW so far:
I was desperately trying to tag one of the abominations to see if they drop anything, and I finally got one on the outskirts of Valley of Honor. No one else was near me so I was taking this thing pretty much by myself. They don't hit that hard but they shoot that chain thing that has a pushback and a stun. He kinda pinned me into a wall with it, then out of nowhere Sylvanas and her legion of skeletons come and start wailing on the thing, as if she came to rescue me.
Fighting along lore heroes makes me feel much more epic than any amount of "epic" gear ever will.

Well if you want some excitement go get three allies to wall jump org and drop into the Ring of Valor. Simply summon in a raid and kill thrall at your leasure. No guards to worry about and horde can't even attack you. It's fun and exploits for the whole family!
It happened on Maelstrom earlier this evening and is being laughed about here...

It's nice to know that game exploiting is rewarded, so spread the cheating love to your servers.

It was super cool for a couple minutes, but got boring pretty fast. The mobs don't hit hard at all, and they drop really really fast with so many people nuking them. There was no sense of danger, or that these guys might actually do some damage in Orgrimar. The flying guys, while super cool looking, were just like flying target practice. I pulled aggro on one, and he hit for like 1k, and I was heal specced.
They also didn't reward any rep or anything when you killed them, and had no loot. Not even a few silver or some cloth or anything.
I am hoping that this is just the start of something much much more dramatic!

I was on my 43 pally in Org during an attack, and tagged a towering horror. When the the guards and I finished it off, I got +4 Argent Dawn rep for it.

One thing happened on Hydraxis in the harbor that caused a major load of lol-wtf plus the inevitable BOOM was the guard that spawned in mid-ar. We're talking 130 feet in the air... then falling to the ground. Splat. Kind of ancti-climactic as a guard-death goes, innit?
