Wrath shipped to stores, copies being sold early at 7-11

So odds are that you might be able to grab the game early from stores that are breaking the street date, but it does appear that Blizzard hasn't actually flipped the switch on the expansion, and likely won't do it until tomorrow evening. We'll keep an eye out for more places Wrath may have already popped up.
Update: Thanks to one of our readers for sending along the pic of his Wrath box and the receipt above. The game is indeed shipped and being sold, though Blizzard is saying Northrend won't be available until Wednesday evening. Another reader picture of a purchased game after the break.

The only download part to the installation was the patch from 3.2 to 3.3 except it didn't download anything and just used the files that we're already in the wow folder. Unlike TBC where it had to download everything all over again.

I'm in the UK and Play.com shipped my copy out yesterday (Monday). 3 - 5 days delivery so I have my fingers x'd that I'll get it on Thursday!!

My CC just got charged for my WOTLK gamestop.com got order. It changed from a TEMP charge to a normal charge.
The order page still only shows "Pre-Order Ships 11-13" though.
No tracking number yet either :(
Man I hope they ship them tonight so we can gte a head-start on the installation.
I want to be ready to log on at midnight tomorrow!

I just picked up a copy at a 7-Eleven here in Los Angeles. It looks like each 7-Eleven only got 2 copies though. Anyway, it's out there if you want it early...

"the game will install, but not run yet"...
Wait wait wait...if we install early, we can't play regular WOW?
Or do you mean just the new island can't be visited?
Let's clarify that...

Installed mine this morning, patched it up to 3.0.3 and it plays regular wow fine. Jsut need to wait for bliz to flip the northrend switch to go questing :D

Cool, thank you Dranaerys!

Same here. I got the Wrath client installed+patched and my account upgraded to Wrath status last night. But none of the features are enabled yet. Can't gain exp at 70, can't make a DK, can't go to Northrend. I suspect there will be a server reboot/downtime to enable the boats/zeps to NR and maybe a small patch to enable client-side stuff such as DK creation.

I have a feeling my CE from Amazon isn't going to get here on time (middle of nowhere FTL).
/debates waiting in line at midnight for a second CE

If you install WOTLK now, you will NOT be able to play WoW AT ALL until you download a patch that will only be released on 11/13.
Which means you either stare at the log-in screen for two days OR you re-install the entire game EXCEPT for WOTLK.
Dranaerys Nov 11th 2008 10:59AM
Wrong, I installed WotLK, patched to 3.0.3 and all is good on regular wow. This of course, being the EU version.
Netherscourge Nov 11th 2008 11:01AM
Oh ok - wasn't sure. LAST time around, people who installed TBC early got screwed. (I know I did)
rosencratz Nov 11th 2008 11:09AM
Proof?
This wasn't true for wotlk and someone before you already has disputed your warning.
Metal Geario 360 Nov 11th 2008 5:02PM
Netherscourge is right to an extent.
Referred my brothers account. He got antsy and entered key code for TBC before installing it. Game "locked" him out...
Not to mention the DvD ROM for TBC wouldnt read in his laptop. It would just start and stop spinning...
End result= "You must install the Burning Crusade to play"
He had to uninstall WoW, and borrow a friends BC "disks" to fix the problem.

I've actually been to the store where i've ordered my copy today, to confirm that I get it, and the man told me they already have the wrath copy's, sadly he didn't want to give it to me yet !! QQ
Armo Nov 11th 2008 11:17AM
So on the off chance more people receive their copies early.. What time roughly would you be able to zip into Northrend? Obviously its not an easy question but surely someone would know :P

Bulk Nov 11th 2008 11:01AM
Ordered mine from game.co.uk in the UK, and my order has flipped over to "Dispatched" in the last hour or so - fingers crossed it should arrive tomorrow!

Has anyone else noticed that the box says "First Month of Play Included"?!? Is this photoshopped or is that how the expansion will work? I don't seem to remember that TBC came with 1 month of free play.
