Looks like sword itemisation hasn't been much improved in Northrend then.
As sword-spec, unless you're a blacksmith yourself, you're not going to get anything out of the listed blacksmithing weapons apart from the "Savage Cobalt Slicer". "Ring of Blood v2" rewards no swords either.
If Blizzard are determined that Rogues should wield daggers, why provide the ability to specialise in swords at all?
*sigh*

Ah, but poor sword itemization is an important part of being a dedicated sword rogue. I've been exclusively combat-swords since my mid-50s (my dagger skill is below 300), and I've been through all the ups and downs of sword itemization, from fighting a paladin for the Sword of Zeal to begging my Khara run to please please please do Netherspite this week on the off-chance that my sword will drop.
Poor sword itemization is like a badge of honour. It's like a battle scar that the dedicated sword rogue carries while fair-weather sword rogues think they're all cool swapping in their daggers for a Gladiator's Quickblade or a Warglaive of Azzinoth. The true sword rogue reminisces about wielding the Thrash Blade into Molten Core because she lost repeated Dal'Rend rolls to hunters. The true sword rogue knows that dedication means camping out the auction house for a sword of the bandit throughout the late 60s. The true sword rogue knows that Blizzard will repeatedly neglect us and abuse us, but we will persevere. We will look towards Naxxaramus, we will see several excellent dagger, and we will pass on them. Because the Torment of the Banished? That's the good stuff. That's my weapon, and it will drop. Someday.

Haha. You're right.
I spent almost the entirety of Outland with the Extra Sharp Blade in one hand and Keen Marshfang Slicer in the other. :-(

*Probably not true.

I feel like there's an error there, because all of the listed blacksmithing items are BoE except for the swords, and there was post up a few days ago about how Blizz intended to make all crafted gear BoE. It's likely that information of the beta servers isn't quite up to date with what will actually go live.
