They've already opened a new realm for transfers, but Bornakk just let us know that a brand new US realm will be open for character creation tomorrow morning (Pacific time). I assume he specified Pacific time so they're not held to opening before noon Eastern, which would be pretty early for those west-coast dwellers. The vitals on the new realm:
- Name: Grizzly Hills
- Type: PvE (normal)
- Time Zone:
PacificEastern - Battlegroup: Retaliation
- AQ gates closed, closed to transfers for 3 months.
I have to say, though, it would take quite a reroll locust to start over from scratch tomorrow, when the rest of us are leveling Death Knights or enjoying Northrend. Who's going to go check it out?

That's what I was going to say ... Once blizz fix the DK creation on other realms bug, you'd have to level to 55 before having a DK.
The other bad part, is that they will allow you to create a DK on one server (one with your lv55+ char), then transfer that DK onto another server ..
.. However, you cannot create any more DKs on that account. Not until "open DK creation" is available ..

You can make a DK on any realm as long as you have a level 55, regardless of where it is, even if it is on a different realm.

You cannot do this right now. That was the plan all along, but it was recently changed - right now, DK creation, according to numerous threads here and on the official forums, is limited to the server on which your 55 or higher currently resides. They plan to open up DK creation to all the realms soon, but it is not available right now - unless something has changed in the last few hours.

Nice for new players, to have an option to play the game and level with other people not busy in northrend. Smart move by Blizz.

I rerolled in Auchindoun with my friends from college when BC came out. We were all on different servers and wanted to start fresh together in a realm that wasn't already full of high-level characters, so I can see the appeal. Hilariously, since my realm cam up with BC, it seems everyone and there mother's a Blood Elf. Myself included, of course, ;-)
I'm pretty set on Auchindoun right now, though. As long as my friends and I are on it together I plan on sticking with it.

I can see it being good for multiboxers/dualboxers. Recruit a friend XP bonus = Pretty damn fast levelling to 60, then it takes only a week or so for 70, by then you could do the AQ gates, get your mount and leave your char for an xfer off onto your normal server, now that pve to pvp is available!

I will, Newegg is shipping my order from CA so I won't get it tomorrow like I was expecting it would, it won't be here until 11/17, so what the heck, wonder how far I can get in 4 days.

I think I'll be taking advantage of it, though I would have preferred an RP server or one in a different time zone, I will give re-rolling a shot. I regret that Cairne came right before I had already planned to take a WOW break and I never got into it.
And I even like the name. I guess.
Also, so many people on this thread are totally wrong! Don't listen to anyone! Even me!

Just to be able to participate in a Gates opening event would be worth it.
Tempting to go and roll one up. I've only been on an RP server before, so to be able to choose a name that's usually taken and also reportable is intriguing as well....

...although, as of 6:55 AM PST (8:55 AM CST, where I am), it's not open for creation AFAICT.

I'm guessing it wil be the "recommended" server for first-timers curious about the hype and trying it out. makes sense.
