10 easy Northrend achievements

In order to help you find some direction, I've put together a list of 10 easily attainable achievements that you can earn in the next few days while questing. These are along the way, so you won't have to break your stride. Many can even be achieved today.
1. Train one of your professions! A skill of 350 in any of your professions will open up the ability to train Grand Master, which will award you with the achievement, Professional Grand Master. Check out our guide to finding your profession trainers.
2. Most level 70s will have at least two professions with a minimum skill of 350 by this point, so why not train them both to Grand Master? This will give you the achievement, Working Day and Night.
3. If you have leveled Fishing, First Aid and Cooking to at least 350, and train their Grand Master ranks, you will earn the achievement, Skills to Pay the Bills.
If you haven't, but would like to, then check out our guide to leveling Fishing to 375 as well as Cooking to 375. First Aid should be a breeze, as all you need is cloth! Still, should you find yourself at a loss, check out our Guide to Farming Cloth.
4-6. As you should know by now, there are two starter areas; Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord. If you ride around and fully explore the map of each, you will earn two achievements, Explore Borean Tundra and Explore Howling Fjord. Check out our guide to reaching each starter zone!
After that, try riding through Dragonblight. It's a level 71-74 zone, so it shouldn't prove too challenging!
7. Instead of flitting back and forth between each starter zone, choose one and settle in. If you can complete 150 quests in the area, you will be given the achievement, I've Toured the Fjord or Nothing Boring About Borean.
8-10. Everyone is going to be itching to try some of the new dungeons, so why not hop into queue? Finishing Utgarde Keep on regular mode will grant you the achievement, Utgarde Keep. You should also be able to queue The Nexus and Azjol-Nerub.

Thanks for the tips. When the achievements were available, my 70 quickly became addicted.

...and if you've made sure to spread some /love amongst the animals of the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, there are only two more critters left in Northrend to complete the achievement "To All the Squirrels I've Loved Before": the Borean Frog and the Steam Frog. Both can be found quite close to each other on the eastern and southeastern fringes of the geyser fields in central Borean Tundra.
Just note to your guildies that it's entirely platonic.

Also one of my favorites - at the crossroads in SE Howling Fjord are a large number of turkeys. Kill 15 in 3 minutes to get "Friend or Fowl?"

someone knows how many life points the lich king has?in the beta they were 13945k=13.945.000 but now?
Azbulldog Nov 13th 2008 7:43PM
You should mention a few others such as Friend or Fowl?

You're right, it is an easy achievement. "Friend or Fowl?" looks daunting, but three minutes give you plenty of time to find 15 turkeys.

How about Get to the Choppa?

This one isn't so easy. You have to get to 80, and then spend a crapload of money to either make it or buy one from an engineer. Not a trivial task.

I don ' t know about you, but I ' m about 50% through Nothing Boring about Borean and it took me roughly 7 hours to do that. Not exactly an ''easy'' achievement!
Horris Nov 14th 2008 10:14AM
No, but it's something that can be achieved rather passively if you're grinding through those quests anyway.

Just wanna say, WOTLK is soooo much better than BC
Bpow Nov 14th 2008 12:16AM
You actually have more than ten here because getting grand master in fishing, first aid and cooking are an additional 3 achievements

Yes, yes. WotLK is really so much better than BC

I'm not opposed to achievements, and I'm planning to get the explorer one eventually, but I think to some extent rushing to 80, grinding out achievements for example trying to be first to 450 fishing, it really just takes the fun out of the game. I have a list of things to do at work. I have a list of chores to do at home. I have a bunch of things I need to do with my family. I don't need to turn my main freeplay time into yet another to-do list.
So I just do whatever quests I feel like doing, I don't really care if I waste extra time traveling around. If I see a horde I feel like attacking, I do it. If I see a node of fish, I put on a lure and bust out the pole. If my bags are full I clean them out. I put stuff on a bank alt and AH them. I go grab a level on a DK, level and alt on full rest XP for a bit, etc. For me, this is the healthy way to enjoy this game and not turn it into an obsession. Did I mention I have a bike ride planned for Saturday morning?

And some of us enjoy the to-do list feel. One way's not better than the other, it's just different. Personally, I enjoy the game a lot more when I'm working towards an obvious goal, even though as well know, goals in WoW aren't "real". Obviously any time someone says "takes the fun out" or "ruins the game", they mean "for me". If you enjoy the grind, have at it.

Each to their own i spose. me im enjoying the sight seeing, i didnt see beta so im in no rush to lvl. How ever the person that wrote this DID make a error, the achievements for Howling Fjord and Tundra actually require 130 Quests completed not 150. Suprised that noone picked up on this...
