Reports of the first character to reach level 80 are flooding in, and there are screenshots to back it up. Congratulations to
Nymh of EU Drek'thar on your achievement! Nymh's Armory displays her (him?) as an SL/SL Warlock, which I've been told is an exceptionally good grinding spec, especially when coupled with a healer. Judging by her buffs in the
full screenshot, it looks like she just may have had a pocket healer on the journey to 80. A
Discipline Priest, specifically. Whether the Priest was there the whole way through or just happened to be partied with Nymh at that moment, we're not really sure.
That screenshot also seems to be from the
Grizzly Hills, which is roughly a mid-70s zone. Nymh may have dinged 80, but she still has plenty of content ahead. I hope the trek to 80 was an enjoyable one! How long until you start leveling your alts, Nymh?

This is not an hoax, I am 80, I had an ungrouped pocket healer (Disc priest), to heal me, and a mage just helped me go faster the last 10% of the last level.
Yes, it was grinding, a very good spot inside the drakil'jin ruins, with very fast spawn rate.

It's so sad to c how ppl like nymh have no life! :(
Zoisite Nov 14th 2008 3:08PM
It's sad how people who are jealous of other people's accomplishments just can't help but resort to insults of "You have no life."
Of course, this says much for how much of a life those people have, hmm? Not even spending their time in-game, they prefer to stick to forums and comments, complaining about the accomplishments of others.
...Alas, the same could be said about me, actually taking the time to post on it. Haha.
Grats Nymh!

I think what's even sadder than the "no life comments" and the "you're on the forums so shut up and don't complain comments" is that HELP was required from 2 different sources in order for this person to level to 80.
Try doing it solo, maybe then a congrats is in order.
ThunderSevn Nov 13th 2008 9:45PM
There is no way this is real....how in the world can you legitametly get all the XP in the 10 new levels in less than 24 hours? Even playing it non-stop since the release time of midnight in Europe?
Anoroth Nov 13th 2008 9:48PM
Notice this person still has all level 70 epics, a good sign for those who did not want all of their items to be immediately replaced like in BC.
BooDizz Nov 13th 2008 9:53PM
this was because he grinded all the mobs, no quests/dungeons i assume
Nick Nov 13th 2008 10:14PM
so it's a good sign that the hundreds of new items and crafted gear blizz made for wotlk will never be used?
placebo Nov 14th 2008 8:49AM
Most Epics did not need to be immediately replaced in BC, that was knee jerk reactions in the forums.
Clem Nov 14th 2008 10:54AM
I replaced my Voidheart shoulders with a quest reward (blue) last night. I also got a wand and a ring to equip when I ding to 71. So yeah, even the best gear is going to be replaced by 72-73.
Davo Nov 13th 2008 9:47PM
According to his recount it took him 19 hours, nice job m8
Dajobe Nov 13th 2008 9:50PM
OMGWTFBBQHAX! this is legit u noobs, they were prob the first served and have not slept since getting the expansion, and drank red bull!
Illy Nov 13th 2008 10:00PM
Well done, and special kudos to the disc priest, holding out for all this time with no personal benefit. Quite nice to have the weekend off, without any of that pesky levelling to do, I imagine ...

Why are we congratulating this again?
Congrats for skipping a huge portion of new content for a minor achievement that'll be forgotten in a week? Way to go?
The Claw Nov 13th 2008 10:44PM
People still remember the 60-70 world record from TBC, so I'm not sure why you think this one will be forgotten within a week.
Rein Nov 13th 2008 10:48PM
Really? Cause I don't. I mean, I remember it happened--it's common knowledge SOMEONE hit level 70 first. Ask me the name, race, class, server, faction? Nothin'.
Unless you knew him or her personally, or play on the same server and faction, can you honestly tell me all of that info without looking it up?
Scelestus Nov 13th 2008 11:14PM
Didn't Kungen get both of those records, or at least the 70 one?
Hobbes Nov 14th 2008 3:33PM
I remember the TBC 60-70 achievement. 28 hours with the help of his guild, AoE-grinding everything. People still talk about it, and compare it to this one.
Luke Nov 13th 2008 10:04PM
Wow...grats. now you've got to go back and do all those quests for rep and stuff. not to mention taking all the fun out of it imo.
draeth Nov 13th 2008 10:10PM
wait it only took him 19 hours of grinding?!? someone needs to get coords on this guys grinding spot cause i hate questing, all that walking and waiting for stuff, not for me.
