Reports of the first character to reach level 80 are flooding in, and there are screenshots to back it up. Congratulations to
Nymh of EU Drek'thar on your achievement! Nymh's Armory displays her (him?) as an SL/SL Warlock, which I've been told is an exceptionally good grinding spec, especially when coupled with a healer. Judging by her buffs in the
full screenshot, it looks like she just may have had a pocket healer on the journey to 80. A
Discipline Priest, specifically. Whether the Priest was there the whole way through or just happened to be partied with Nymh at that moment, we're not really sure.
That screenshot also seems to be from the
Grizzly Hills, which is roughly a mid-70s zone. Nymh may have dinged 80, but she still has plenty of content ahead. I hope the trek to 80 was an enjoyable one! How long until you start leveling your alts, Nymh?

draeth Nov 13th 2008 10:18PM
Well if you think about it anyone with a life, even a life with a girlfriend, a part-time job and school could manage this feat. He probably just planned ahead for, told whoever he needed to tell he would be unavailable for the entire day and night and grinded his fucking ass off with lots of red bull and marijuana, amirite?

What is wrong with some of you people? So because he took 19 hours off from the real world that means he's got no life and no friends?
There's always some haters that are still grining away at 71. Oh you skipped content, blah blah blah... so what? More than likely if he's that fast, he has multiple 70's and can see everything he wants in his own time.
Way to post with your sour grapes.
Grats on 80.

Thats amazing, I would do this but I would like to enjoy content this time around... I waited a week for my guild to catch up in TBC. >_

Is this the same Nymh who did the the Eminem parody mechinima?
Skarlette Nov 14th 2008 1:43PM
I assume not, since the machinimator plays on Alleria, US, if I'm not mistaken.
Deywalker Nov 13th 2008 10:16PM
God, take the stick outta your asses, Zlavi, Luke and Reinard.
The guy/gal achieved something today. No need to rain on the parade.
Gratz to you Nymh!
P.S. Are you the same Nymh that makes the music videos? Those are great. =)

Why do people mock those who go through the content so quickly?
First of all, the correlation to the player's sex life and him/her playing 19 hours straight means nothing. There are a lot of casual people who have played the game for a couple of days straight as well as hardcore people who are married with children.
Second, it is their choice to enjoy the content at level 80 just like you are enjoying it at level 71/72/73 est. Also, they have the rest of their life to enjoy it on any character that they play in the future, however they also get the achievement of being the first level 80.
Finally, to all of those who tell that person to get a life, you need to think more about the choices you are making in yours. While the player who choose to play a game they love for 19 hours straight to accomplish something, the only thing you have accomplished is mocking someone. You add nothing to the world by doing this and prove what kind of a person you really are. Next time you even consider mocking someone for participating in a harmless action, like playing a video game for their own person enjoyment, you need to go to the bathroom and look at yourself in the mirror. Reevaluate the kind of person you really are before making any more choices in your life.
Congrats on level 80 and I hope that you find more peace in your days.

ryan Nov 13th 2008 10:27PM
it's a lie. there's NO WAY to hit 80 that fast. not even if you play non-stop could you hit 80.
brech Nov 13th 2008 10:28PM
Where the hell did this guy grind?
josh Nov 14th 2008 11:13AM
Drakil'jin Ruins which can be found south of Thor Modan and east of Westfall Brigade Encampment in Grizzly Hills. Its the zone above Howling Fjord
Foladar Nov 13th 2008 10:27PM
What are achievements given for, first 80 overall and then first 80 for each class?
Luke Nov 13th 2008 10:27PM
I just don't know why someone would want to waste all of Blizzards hard work in making all of these zones and quests to be enjoyable by grinding to 80 and not even experiencing a fourth of the content. And Truami...lay off the grass, nobody wants to hear you're gay hippy B.S.
gurgle Nov 13th 2008 10:37PM
You're right, there's no way he can now enjoy all the content he skipped. I know I was really heartbroken when I hit 70 in Blade's Edge and realized I would now never be able to set foot in Netherstorm or Shadowmoon.
Riley Nov 13th 2008 10:55PM
i still can't believe there are people like you
if blizzard is so against people doing this, then why would they make an achievement for first to 80?
josh Nov 14th 2008 11:09AM
@gurgle
lololololololol, Effing awesome! I thought the same thing, OMG now I can't zone anywhere else!
Truami Nov 13th 2008 10:28PM
The Achievements are First level 80 and Reaching Level 80
Foladar Nov 13th 2008 10:39PM
So only one first level 80 will be rewarded, no per class? People were arguing per class, per race, etc in trade.
