Reports of the first character to reach level 80 are flooding in, and there are screenshots to back it up. Congratulations to
Nymh of EU Drek'thar on your achievement! Nymh's Armory displays her (him?) as an SL/SL Warlock, which I've been told is an exceptionally good grinding spec, especially when coupled with a healer. Judging by her buffs in the
full screenshot, it looks like she just may have had a pocket healer on the journey to 80. A
Discipline Priest, specifically. Whether the Priest was there the whole way through or just happened to be partied with Nymh at that moment, we're not really sure.
That screenshot also seems to be from the
Grizzly Hills, which is roughly a mid-70s zone. Nymh may have dinged 80, but she still has plenty of content ahead. I hope the trek to 80 was an enjoyable one! How long until you start leveling your alts, Nymh?

I believe it is Server First, I may be wrong because I honestly can not read French.
My priest hit level 70 after the achievement system was put into effect and I gained the level 70 one so I compared that to level 80.
Also, I remember that Blizzard said that the Feats of Strength were meant for actions such as Server Firsts, so I assumed that it was level 80 server first.
Only rational assumption, but I believe I may use more reason than those who spam Trade ^_^

I do read French for I'm french...
The log display the achievement for getting the toon to 80, then, being first 80 on realm, then first 80 human, then first 80 demoniste (warlock), and again on the guild chat.
The screenshot display only the two firts : "prem's" at 80 (prem's means first) and level 80.
GG Nymh :)

I thought they said they took all that shit out, to give less incentive for people to grind for hours continuously
Dan Nov 14th 2008 11:04AM
They took out the reward titles, but left the feat of strength, iirc.

Someone on Korgath is saying this guy got banned for "exploiting mob tapping"
Either that guy is a complete moron (exploiting mob tapping? when you tap a mob for yourself and someone else kills it), or Blizzard is being a little to Nazi-esque with the rules regarding mobs.
Nadrysta Nov 13th 2008 10:42PM
Tagging mobs as a warlock kind of sucks, what's more, too. Those instant cast dots don't count until they tick, and pets only move so fast.
darian Nov 14th 2008 11:01AM
Actually, that was Athene's crew.
They were temporarily banned and reverted back to level 70 for exploiting mob tagging in instances.
Nabikula Nov 13th 2008 10:44PM
Congratulations! That took a lot of planning and I hope you get some well deserved rest. :)
draeth Nov 13th 2008 10:49PM
Could you imagine finishing 19 hours of straight grinding on the same mobs!?!?! He must have dinged 80 and began joyfully sobbing himself into a coma in which he will come out of in like twelve hours.
Nabikula Nov 13th 2008 11:27PM
I'm a small pet lover, so yes. Yes I can.
Radiophonic Nov 13th 2008 10:47PM
I heartell that they're being investigated by GM's.
draeth Nov 13th 2008 10:50PM
Oh no dont revoke his medals! He thought it was sunflower flax oil!
Doc Nov 14th 2008 12:38AM
Why are you all saying gratz to this guy? He didn't do it on his own. He had 2 other people help him the whole time. If we all had a "pocket" healer who walked around and healed us, we would all be 80 by now. This isn't like grouping with others and questing. Some real achievement there buddy...(insert sarcasm)
Deadly. Off. Topic. Nov 17th 2008 11:42AM
Yeah, it's like I said earlier. Do it solo and then you can get a congrats...
BUT! As I said in a different post, I still wouldn't congratulate someone who felt the need to rush through leveling to get an achievement to lord over other players.
Evelinda Nov 13th 2008 10:51PM
Geez, lots of haters out there...
I can understand perfectly if YOU dont want to stand in one spot and grind mobs for 19 hours... god knows i dont... but seriously, if someone wants to spend their time that way, whats it to you? I fail to see how this impacts on you in a negative manner, and as for him (her?) skipping content, as someone said earlier, its not like they cant just go back and do it anyway, even if they dont have an alt, and i'd be really surprised if they didnt.
Good for you Nymh, you did something you set out to do. Now go frolic in the sunshine for awhile, then come back and keep enjoying your game :)
Kukuena Nov 13th 2008 10:56PM
Hey all! Gratz
If I did this I'd break down how I did it. i.e. my wife was on her priest. My guildies helped (with shout outs to them). Or some other ways to brag about my achievement!
THIS IS EPIC! no doubt. Gratz again.
Now . . . how did you do it?
Makoy Nov 13th 2008 10:56PM
Very well done! As for the rest criticizing what you've accomplished, pay them no mind. At the end of the day, you're still 80 and they just wish they had the time and perseverance that you put in.
And this says something for all the casual players overwhelmed with getting to 80. If you plan ahead and invest a mere 19 and odd hours, we can all agree it's possible. You can roll an alt and quest, experience the lore, run the dungeons or what have you. It's not "wasting" what Blizzard has offered for the xpac. You're paying for it, you decide how you want to experience it.
Once again, a well deserved congratulations! Now go lie down and get some rest. :)
praefectus Nov 13th 2008 11:02PM
Ok NO way he did it with out hax
grind 19hrs
exp per kill 943 i was getting per kill unrested
at lvl 70 it takes 1.2million to lvl i think i dont have my game on
so 1.2 million/ 943 =1172 kills to lvl give or take so
so 60min 1172/60 = 19 so that means he was killing 19mobs per min. So 5sec per kill? and the exp to lvl only gets higher
SO I CALL BS time to banned his account!
Beatphreek Nov 14th 2008 12:32PM
So you think that all mobs in Northrend give the same Exp as the lvl 68 mobs you are killing right outside of Valliance Keep?
I call dumbass! Time to banned your comments.
Legosy Nov 16th 2008 7:58AM
Your calculations accounted for him doing it in 10 hours, he did it 19 hours or something like that
