Breakfast Topic: What Northrend zone did you begin in and why?

After the Midnight Launch, I rushed home with my precious Collector's Edition, installed, patched and made a Death Knight. I'm not ready to play my DK yet, but I wanted to reserve the name and get her resting. Then I put my druid on a zeppelin and went to Northrend.
I didn't research the best starting zone for my class. I didn't even think about where the zeppelin might be taking me. I just randomly chose the Undercity portal from Shattrath and went from there. So here I am in the Howling Fjord. From a Tauren perspective, I'm not sure how I feel about doing chores for the Forsaken. Ah well, we're all in this together, right?
Where did you begin your Northrend questing? Did you research your decision, choose randomly or follow the pack?

Vikings make me want to nuke Outland from orbit.
It's nice to be back in a land where men are men, the land smells of dung and wetness and death, and belfs and shiny gemmy spires are nowhere to be seen.
GG Blizz.

Aww, I thought blood elf architecture was cool...

I went to the Tundra, because that's where Zygor's guide sent me. *shrug*

Howling Fjord because I knew, and was right, that because its port of departure was not in a major capital city, it wouldn't be as crowded at Borean Tundra. Being one one of the original servers, I knew BT would be overrun in short order, and it was.
HF was still crowded, mind you, because I'm not the only genius on the server, but it wasn't nowhere near as crowded as BT. Plus, I poked around BT in the beta and hadn't been to HF. I must say, Howling Fjord is a cooler looking zone, at least in my opinion.

what he said.
I'm sorry, but the Tundra is so damn ugly i think I may skip it entirely.

I agree, absolutely beautiful area, and the music is intoxicating and draws you right in when you get off the zepp. Very well done Blizz

I'll be hitting the Fjord, because I think the Tundra is a visual patchwork. It's a conglomeration of mismatched shreds of terrain and objects that don't generally fit well. Plus, it's rather flat as a whole. This makes it sound worse than it is, it's not that bad. It's just that the Fjord appeals to me more.

Ack! I used a double negative and now I can't fix it!!!

The Fjord because it looked better in the pictures.

Borean Tundra. Based on some of the quest rewards.

I've taken my Orc Shaman to the Tundra, because it has a nice helping of new Orcish storyline, and I haven't been disappointed at all. Don't see what problems people have with it, I think its an absolutely beautiful zone.
The Fjord I'm leaving for my DK, as she will be an Undead I figure it makes more sense for her to help out the Forsaken.

Borean Tundra, based on extensive research it was best for my 68 paladin. I'm already 70 and have sweet gear, replaced most of my gear as I hadn't even quested in Netherstorm nor Shadowmoon Valley and have done 0 instances. I will be doing HF as well. Not playing my main (hunter) as he doesn't have any rested and want to go fairly slow as getting Cold Weather flying is main objective.

Howling Fjord.
1) Read on this site that it has more alliance lore. I'm a lore nut.
2) Figured Borean Tundra would be more crowded what with the boat from SW harbor.

I went with the Borean Tundra. The Horde has a huge fortress there, and Saurfang is in it. That was all I needed to know.

I hit the Howling Fjord, I just liked the name better. I'm that simple.

I started in the zone called "Queue" ... not really sure that I picked it, so much as it was chosen for me. The music was strangely familiar ... it kept looping over and over again. No quests to speak of, but it was pretty crowded, so I doubt I could have completed them - there were over 1200 people there with me!
From Queue I zoned into Borean Tundra for about 10 minutes, just long enough to spend some gold on new skills before I had to log off for the night. Sleep FTL.
