The zombie event was probably the most fun I've had playing WoW yet. Everyday I'd log in excited to see where it was going next; what city would be overrun, how long the infestation would last, how many people I could cleanse before being yelled at, etc...
The timing was definately way off. The necropoli should have invaded first, during the last few days of Hallows End. Then the zombies a few days later, culminating with teh zombie eradication, which immediately follows with the Org/SW fights.
I got to see about 10 mins of the SW invasion, and I was bored of it after that. There just wasn't anythign happening, the scourge from the necropoli were interactive, they were there until you summoned the shadows and then they left, the ones in SW just kinda kept coming for awhile and then stopped....
