I agree that the timing was bad. It's too close to the Hallow's End event AND the major patch. A lot of us casuals are still trying to get used to our new spells, and still trying to get that elusive Sinister Squashling.But I have a problem with making this event permanent, like when you suggested part of SW burned/deleted permanently.From a new player's standpoint (yes, someone who just joined WoW last week), imagine if he doesn't have TBC yet. What is his purpose in Azeroth? To fight the Horde. To help the Stormwind with its lack of military resources. This is what all the human starting quests are all about, even up to level 25 ish when you go to Redridge. If suddenly SW is burned as a result of Scourge invasion, then it doesn't make sense of that new player to keep fighting the Horde where they now have a common enemy. That means all the human starting quests will need to be rewritten a little bit. But that's just one race, you can imagine what happens to all 10 races.
