It's that time of the week again, and even though Wrath is out and we're all playing up a storm, we'll be taking some time out of our schedule to put out our weekly podcast, the WoW Insider Show, and you should come join us. We'll be live on Ustream tomorrow afternoon at 3:30pm Eastern (time zone calculator), and this week, we'll welcome the site's other co-lead blogger, Dan O'Halloran on with us -- he was live on the scene in Anaheim with Blizzard and about a thousand fans during the launch, and he got to talk to Tom Chilton, so we'll get him to tell us all about that. And Chase Christian, who writes the Encrypted Text rogue column, will be joining us as well to talk about his experiences from 70-72 so far. Additionally, we'll be chatting about Blizzard issues with server downtime and how they've fared post-launch so far (very well, I think, queues notwithstanding), and we'll talk about that first to 80 player and all of our other experiences in Northrend over the past few days.
Should be a terrific show, definitely tune in on Ustream, or just come right back to this post, as we've embedded the stream after the break. If you've got a question for the show or something you'd like us to talk about, just drop a note: our email address is the show AT wowinsider dot com. And of course we'll be on for our usual aftershow -- after the show ends, we turn off the recording and chat directly with the people in the channel, so if you haven't listened live before, there's a great reason to tune in tomorrow. See you there!
I'll be listening to PUG since you folk can not figure out the basics of a quality Podcast. Since leaving WC Radio your show has been of poor quality at best.
Have fun listening to PUG. I grabed the podcast last week and I couldnt get through more then half of it before I felt like I was gonna fall asleep. I love Turpster but the show was more about TB running things then anything. Turpster take some tips from Mike if you are going to be the host Lead the show. Dont let people (Including TB) run on on when its just get boring.
TB is the station owner if he wants his own show he show start another one(Of course that would last till his next break from the game and go by the wayside. like his half hearted dungon masters show). I will download it again this week and try to listen but Tech Difficulties aside I rather enjoyed the last few wees of the Insider show. Mike seems like he is working very hard to put out a quality product and I really hope all the Drama Queens from WCRadio will let it drop soon. Even with an entire radio station they are beat by the instance podcast anyway.
Mike keep up the good work and thanks for all the trouble you are going through to make it happen for us.
Wow, better watch out there, your fanboi is showing. Sorry, but I too listened to that show, and TB talked the least out of the 4 hosts. You can hold all the opinions you want but talking out of your ass is still talking out of your ass. Frankly, maybe he should take a more commanding role, he's one of the best podcast hosts there is. Blue plz last night was one of the best shows I've ever heard... anywhere, and I listen to a lot of WoW podcasts. There's a real sense of professionalism and talent there that can't be denied, regardless of what you think of the man personally.
Gotta say, you really are a disrespectful douche, and a hypocrite to boot. You hope WCradio stops the drama and then spend a run-un paragraph insulting the station owner? Sounds to me like the drama's been kept going by people like you. I dunno how you can keep a straight face and insult TBs podcasting, then praise Mike Schramm in the same sentence. Mike isn't putting in effort, if he was, his show would sound better. Sound reasonable? I think its become clear that the people putting in the effort on the Wow insider show were Duncor and Turpster, and without them, the shows gone to hell.
Nope, when it comes to podcasts, I think I'll stick to the guys who know what they're doing, and leave the WI fanbois to make up more lies about WCradio, then complain that it's WCradio causing the drama. Children /rolleyes.
I don’t really want to say anything more on this matter as it has already been blown right out of proportion and doing so only seems to exasperate (I know, big word) things.
The WoW Insider Show was, and still is, a great success from the folks at both WoW Radio and WoW Insider. It was a partnership that allowed both teams to grow, learn and produce some of the best wow info-tainment on the net. I am very proud of what the show was, and what it has become. The WIS can stand on its own two feet and perform, sure there are audio issues, there always will be with live audio shoutcasts when the first start out, and each week they get a little bit better. The content is as good as it’s always been, the audio quality will come with time, and it’s already improved immensely.
I listen to both TWIS and PUG, and I’d hope that you would too. They both bring great, fun content that is unique on both shows and, if you got the time, (Which you should have playing Wrath 24/7) then give them a blast.
Anywho, don’t wanna say anything more on the matter other than best of luck on the show and I look forward to grabbing the podcast.
/agree. PUG is a lot of fun, and we do as well with the WoW Insider Show as we can, you're welcome to listen to either or both. There's no drama between Turpster and I, and frankly, I'm tired of you guys snapping back and forth, trying to attack either WoW Radio or us. That's all I see in these podcast comments lately, and it's getting a bit old.
Relax, and enjoy both shows (they're both completely free, last I checked), because neither one is going anywhere.
I have no problem giving your show another go Mike. If your audio issues are fixed I can maybe stand listening to it. Its just that shoutcast style broadcasting to me seems like a step down in the quality of the Podcasts production.
BRK's show is a high quality production, and he is a guest on your show a bit, maybe get him to help you guys.
Ymere I dont really care what you think about me personally. I am just sick of seeing WCRadio fans coming here and bashing on the show or sitting in chat and bashing on it. Alot of people enjoys it. They don't work together anymore. Its time to move on and if you listen to the other fine. But why go to the other and put the other show down?
I'm the disrespectful douche? I am on the WoWinsider site. I am talking about it and not bashing it like the 2 post above. I can only give you my opinion of how I feel. If you don't like it stuff it. The sad part is all the drama over 2 free shows like Mike said.
Your comment is partisan lunacy. There is no line drawn between WI fans and WoW Radio fans, haven't you forgotten for the past year they've been fans of both? Have you not considered that these people 'bashing' the WI show are WI fans too, who are disappointed to see the show get worse?
You might be posting here but consider this. I was in the channel when Mike first said the things which started this whole drama. You can't tell me that wasn't ugly. WI listeners bashed wow radio and totalbiscuit, some of that stuff was really personal, if I were him, I'd be furious at those people. That's what got this whole thing started, and you're continuing it by posting that stuff here. Hell you're not even right about Dungeonmaster, he didn't do the Black Temple episode because his guild fell apart halfway through, what did you expect him to do, fake it? And you wonder why totalbiscuit didn't like being lied about...
If you want to stop this drama, follow Mike and Turpsters examples and stop slinging mud, accept that some people may not like the new WI show and deal with it.
Ymere I can only go on what I see. I was not in chat that day I can only listen live every other week. But If you go over to the WCRadio forums they have a ton of people more then willing to sling mud. Its pretty sick and I have decided to stop listening to all WoW Radio broadcast because of it. The DM show wasnt the only one that drove me nuts listening over there. I hate the fact that shows were skipped alot the best part of WIShow is that its always on and ontime. In anycase Drama begone. I am sorry for anything you took offensive.

Please get the iTunes subscription sorted, I miss the podcast downloading automatically...
Mike Schramm Nov 15th 2008 11:56AM
iTunes is all fixed up, I'm going to talk about it on the show today. There's a link on our sidebar as well now.
