Naxxramas world first by TwentyFifthNovember

What's not quite expected is how soon they achieved it. I know Blizzard already said that there would no longer be any raid dungeons as hard as Sunwell Plateau, but this is somewhat ridiculous. I mean, getting to Level 80 is one thing, but clearing the first 25-man raid before the weekend is over? Did Blizzard make it too easy? Are they really just that good? Or do the rest of the world just... suck? It's greatly impressive but somehow also seems to leave me with a feeling that the game is just a little less fun now. Just a little. Congratulations to TwentyFifthNovember! It's a phenomenal feat -- but it looks like their Guild name stands for something else, though. I wonder what they will have cleared by November 25?

Wow. Just wow.

You know how some people get a piece of cake and gobble it down without barely tasting it?
congrats on the online equivalent.

This.
I've been playing for two days, and I'm only level 71. What can I say, I take my time and enjoy the scenery!

Nods.
I just hit Dragonblight and I have to say the area is breathlessly, beautiful. And this is where a good chunk of story heavy stuff is happening which makes me happy. I can't wait to explore it. I'm 74 right now.
I'm enjoying the cupicakes - that stale old cake the no-lifers ate, they can keep that.
Vekz Nov 15th 2008 12:35PM
Ridiculous.. And not all of them were level 80.. I call shenanigans.
Jaffney Nov 15th 2008 12:38PM
Remember, it's not like Naxx is a new instance. These guilds know all the boss fights, and whatever mechanics are changed in the shift from 40- to 25-man, those changes are nowhere near as intensive as what would be required in the learning of a new boss.
Ideally, the people who will really feel the challenge of the new Naxx will be like me: people who never had the chance to go into the original.

This. No learning was needed.

Well we're still talking here about the ENTRY level of raiding in Wrath, right?
Besides that all the bosses were known to them from Naxx 1.0 and of course the beta servers. From what I heard on Beta the first real challenge to the normal player base will be Malygos. And for the hardcore guys? We don't know for sure yet but I'd assume the level of difficulty will go up with Ulduar raid instance. But we can't tell yet how far until the PTR opens for that one.
Vekz Nov 15th 2008 12:37PM
Also, congrats on blowing through the content.. are you going to complain that you don't have anything to do again? And bash blizzard because they don't have any new content yet? Jesus christ..
Damntheman Nov 15th 2008 12:47PM
Why not? I think it's sad that blizzard panders to the lowest common denominator. People suck, hard, and blizzard knows it, so they make this game easy as piss.
Jagoex Nov 15th 2008 12:55PM
My wife read your statement, and said "I think people who play video games all day long are a part of the lowest common denominator."
I lol'd, because it's partially true!
Jesse Nov 15th 2008 12:37PM
Its kind of sad to speed through content to "beat" the current incarnation of the game.
However, I'm concerned that Blizzard may have nerfed end game content a little too much. The challenge of overcoming difficult content keeps raiders coming back and gives casuals something to strive for/dream about. If everyone can do it, then its not that special.
darian Nov 15th 2008 1:26PM
Just because everyone can do something doesn't mean it isn't special. However, if something is easy for everyone then the point is most certainly valid.
At a basic level, I think everyone should be able to complete the entry level raids in Wrath. I don't want it to be *easy* for everyone, but doable. It would be more than selfish to exclude people from the basic experience simply for the sake of being "special".
That said, I fully expect the raids that come after Naxx to ramp up in difficulty. Not to the extremes of BC, but enough that most people enjoy the challenge, while those who were challenged by Naxx may not be able to succeed (an unfortunate, but necessary, side effect). If everything after Naxx is on the same level as Naxx, it'll be a bad expansion for many raiders.
Jack Spicer Nov 15th 2008 2:27PM
I might be wrong here, but in the past (particularly before TBC) wasn't the challenge of end game raids not necessarily the fact that the encounters were difficult but that they were in fact bugged or impossible, and there were also a lot of fights that had strict resistance requirements on gear.
Once you remove the resistance requirements and make sure that encounters aren't totally broken it gets a lot easier for a guild like these guys have to power through the raids.
sephirah Nov 15th 2008 12:39PM
1. Naxx is probably difficult as Kara
2. They were probably all in beta, so had plenty of time to test it. I assume they did the old Naxx as well.
3. SWP gear is quite fine at 80
Quite likely they'll do the other raids in the next hours/days
Jack Spicer Nov 15th 2008 2:28PM
I'm pretty sure I saw a statement by a developer that said their aim was to make Naxx 10 easier than Kara.
Karmakin Nov 15th 2008 12:43PM
This isn't a surprise. My T4 guilds post-patch assault on BT got me a really nice helm that I really like and don't want to replace anytime soon. So I was looking up the gear, and Sunwell gear is about on par with 80 Heroic gear. Combine the fact that they're probably near geared as well as you can be pre-Naxx, with the fact of having the, most experienced players in the world, who have actually done the fights before.
Nope. Not a surprise.
spacedrabbit Nov 15th 2008 12:47PM
still, wow needs endgame content like sunwell to keep something to strive for in a pve context. maybe it is actually difficult, i'll see when the time comes... for now ill enjoy wrath nice and slow
Jagoex Nov 15th 2008 12:52PM
Zach, I'm pointing my finger at my computer and shaking it violenty atm. =P
Did Blizzard make the game too easy? No. But they also did not cater to people who play it as a career choice, 24/7.
Is choosing to blow through the game a measure of skill? That answer is also "no." I know plenty of players that are still running Utgarde Keep and The Nexus, not because they "suck," but because they are enjoying the experience of leveling and taking it all in. I don't think they feel any less skillful because they chose to approach the game in such a way, do you?
Most of this is subjective, and it really comes down to what the player wants from the game.
That said, what this DOES imply is that T6/SWP gear will do very well for those who have it at Lvl80 Naxx. I say that because I very much doubt they had the time to gear up before clearing the instance. Blizzard said they didn't want to see the gear explosion they saw with TBC, and so far, they've lived up to that statement.
