I wouldn't say that this is a very big deal, your talking about a merger of the two most successful guilds in WoW's History. The fact that they are also sponsored means that for them it is more of a job. They don't just want to beat the game, they're paid to. So I would say that the worst part of this is that the idea of getting a world first, ever, is pretty much a mute point by now, they will. I think that regular raiders will enjoy the content at their own pace, and the only real issue now their value to the community. I mean they have no competition at this stage, and once they get fully geared, then what? Arena's they will be by far the most advanced group you will find.
Over all though, if they begin to hold this monopoly I wonder if people will care much longer, or will we all begin to just wonder who is the second or more legitimate group going into the next tier.
