It'll depend on how quickly 'everybody else' goes through the same content. If, in a few months, many raid guilds have done the same, it would indicate blizz needs to give people something to do for the remaining 1-1½ years until next expansion. Presumably they can use their new approach with variable difficulty for same content -> better drops. It's a tricky design through, since those better drops then again demand more difficult encounters. If blizz has "plenty" of further patch-dungeons in the pipeline, it's probably not a problem. Ie then it was a priority choice about getting '"the basic 70-80 experience out to the general public" first. But if no further regular raid content appears, then they may have achieved something akin to getting rid of haute couture clothes fashion, and concentrating on 'mall wear'. That would be dangerous, it's taking away 'the unreachable stuff that people aspire to'. Personally I love that there are levels to the game that are beyond my reach - as long as it's not the major part of it...
