Breakfast Topic: What did you level first?
Our topic for today comes from one of our readers, Grindal. He (she? Sorry!) wrote in suggesting we ask all of you a question. What did you level first? Did you level your main right away? Did you try out an alt in Northrend? Did you roll a Death Knight? Heck, is your new Death Knight your new main?Personally, I went straight to my main. No questions about it. I hit the Howling Fjord and started questing like crazy. Eventually I rolled my Death Knight with the name I had been reserving for months now, but I didn't really play it at all. I just wanted to start accumulating rest. That's about all I did on all of my alts, actually. I made sure my 70s were in inns. That's it. Beyond that, it's been all Shadow Priest all the time. I was lucky in that I got into Northrend a little bit ahead of the crowds, so I'm usually a zone ahead of most people. I just finished the Dragonblight last night just as the masses rolled in, and now I have the Grizzly Hills more or less to myself. Once people start flooding that zone, I'll be over in Zul'Drak.
How are things going for all of you?

I'm rotating what I have rested. Both the DK starting area and the Howling Fjord have been terrific! I love the death angel who rezzed me and the scenery and music in HF is magnificent. For the most part people have been very helpful. I helped a druid do an escort quest and he or she came back and helped me :)

Absurd.
Wouldn't leveling your 'alt' first make it your main and make your 'main' your alt?

So far, I've got my DK out of the starting zone, and nearly cleared both Howling Fjord and Borean Tundra quests. Hit 73 last night and just waitin for the eye pain to subside before starting again.

unless you outleveled the masses of kara after nerf rude wanna be raiders, and pvp douchebags you are killing yourself. just go roll a DK for two weeks and avoid these strokes.
a dk with a good support system and planning fine, i've stayed about two zones ahead of the masses, and had NP quick three minute grouping for quests with people around, and then went back and helped a bud out and had 8 people refuse invites for a simple kill the boss quest.
there is a reason I'll clear naxx and maylgos this week and the kara raiders will be at it for six months lol
told my buddy holler later, and I sped the hell away from the retards.
good luck. ;)

I leveled the DK first... I've just hit Outlands so I'll probably switch between my main and my DK.

I took my main (lvl 59 BE) for a zep ride and brought her back to the Undercity. I then rolled a DK and my DK is fast becoming my new favorite.
Now with two somewhat high lvl toons, I can switch back and forth and really make use of rested XP.

I am lvling my DK, as to he will likely become my main.
Currently only at lvl 65, but trying for 68 ASAP to hit northrend.

Well my main was at level 58. I rolled a gnome death knight, and he's going to be my new main.

I started a Death Knight, got to level 60 before going to Outlands and then got all my professions to level 300 or above. I'm in Outlands now. :)

I hit the ground running at midnight of the launch and haven't looked back. When the servers pop back up, I'm dinging to 80. It was an amazing marathon, basically getting every zone to myself save the starters. I loved, LOVED being in Storm Peaks with NO ONE to take anything in the zones. It's a grind, but man, what a memorable one.
BTW, I also got Realm First Orc to 80 and Hunter to 80!

5 days until University ends, and then I can play. Before that, I don't want anything to affect my marks!
But anyway, I'll be leveling my Shaman first, then a Draenei DK, and then my lvl 60 druid. Then, in keeping with tradition, I'll level my gnome mage to 70 or so :)

I didn't even buy TBC until two weeks ago, so I've been frantically levelling my main to try and get to endgame. Being at 60 (and now looking up a few levels at 70) has really hammered in how much of the game I missed out on by not be at the level cap. I'm pissed I didn't even know Kara wasn't in Outland until last night.

My main...
...that's a death knight.
Hoggersbud Nov 16th 2008 11:22AM
I've been having Death Knight fun. Undecided about whether or not to have a new main.

I haven't installed Wrath yet, because I am waiting out the beginning zerg in the new zones. Unfortunately, while leveling my 61 priest and 62 warlock in Hellfire, all I see is DKs! Kind of good to get the group quests done, but I am constantly putting up /dnd on my priest, heh!
I think I will install Wrath in the next couple of days, if for nothing else but the CE pet =)

My main, all the way. My alt's not high level enough and while I rolled a Death Knight with the name I was holding, I did a few quests with her and was pretty "meh" about it.

Absolutely in love with Northrend. :) Taking it as slow and easy as possible to enjoy every minute of it, getting into the quest chains and stopping to stare at the scenery often.
I'm a little disappointed at the ease, though. With my BC gear on the quests are a breeze. I've switched about half of it to Wrath drops and q-rewards, greens, and it's still not enough challenge. Only death has been from an afk in a a bad spot. Not really a complaint, it's fine, but giving the starter mobs a little nudge up wouldn't hurt either. Not very far along though, so maybe they get tougher...
