WoW Insider Show Episode 64: Wrath of the Launch King
This past week on our podcast, Wrath was the topic -- getting it, playing it, loving it, hating it. Our own co-lead Dan O'Halloran and rogue blogger Chase Christian joined us, and we talked Wrath of the Lich King. Dan was at the midnight launch in Anaheim, so we asked him about that -- not only were there about 2000 people (and 100 Blizzard employees there), but there was a bubble sword and a hot dog-on-a-stick stand, so listen in for that. And we talked about what the starting zones were like (including two don't-miss quests in Howling Fjord) and our main annoyances with the game so far (none of which include, surprisingly, lag -- despite the queues, Blizzard has really kept the game alive). And we answered emails, including whether a listener should play through his Warlock or Death Knight, and the perils of going after Mr. Pinchy. Don't forget, if you'd like to send us email, the address is theshow AT wow.com -- drop a note, and you might hear it live on the show next Saturday, which we'll stream right on our Ustream page.
And finally, we're back up and running at full steam -- as of right now, every way you need to listen to the show should be completely fixed and functioning. So if you've got iTunes, head over to our iTunes page to subscribe to the show and make sure to leave a review while you're there. Or, you can even listen to the show right over there on our sidebar -- you'll get a new show there every Monday.

As a Shadowstep rogue I am proud that we have a major use in the new BG: Strand of the Ancients. We are able to Shadowstep up to the cannons and pass behind the walls, making our way all the way to the Relic wall using the barrels to slowly breach the wall. With 3 shadow step rogues this can be done super quick. I won 5 games in a row last night solo by using this method!
I hope Blizzard doesn't see this as a bug or a conflict. Yet a solid role for a rogue (only shadowstep talented ones). This can force the other team back to defend deep within their base and allowing for the bulk of the team to move through. This is true WoW rogue strategy at its best!

The title of the show makes me think of what we did at our local gamestop on launch night. We had a raffle of some gift cards, posters, book marks, etc... and we decided to name it "The Raffle of the Lich King"

200? There was about 2 THOUSAND people there. I know, I was in line at 5pm Wednesday evening. :)

Same here. Got in line about 5:30pm and I was standing clear around the backside of the store entrance. After another couple hours the line was completely wrapped around the building and stretched through the parking lot to the fence against the freeway.
Certainly more than 200 folks there.

I haven't gotten WOTLK yet and decided to try to fish a Mr. Pinchy starting at launch.
Why?
Nobody fishes in TBC any more, all the pools were basically mine.
And I finally fished one today!
Sometimes it pays to get the game later I suppose.

Good show!
I will have to admit, the show is better now. No more ads for savage 2 every 10 minutes and the visiting bloggers is a good idea. I miss turpster, but listening to PUG is kind of a letdown. They really just go off the handle without mike to hold the structure together.
So, I proclaim wowinsider the winner of the podcasting beef. Sorry TB.
