Also, I'd like to note that WoTLK has plenty of really nice quests for pacifists. There's a quest in Kamauga (might have a preliminary quest requirement though, not sure) to match a reef cow and a reef bull. They fall in love, quest complete.

Unfortunately he can't use that, because it only unlocks after you do the quest for the pirates to kill Big Roy.
