A fair point but remember, astral recall only goes to your hearth location where as the ring ports to Dalaran, giving you the option to hearth elsewhere. STV fishing contest? A daily quest hub? Wherever your questing in general?it's pretty nice to have an hourly portal to any pub you might choose as well as your home town. For example certain daily quests start from dalaran and often go to certain locations. It'd be far handier to be able to grab the quest, recall to the drop zone then ring-port back again. Potentially halving the time it takes to achieve that one daily as flights are long in northrend. I'm sure there are better uses i haven't considered too.Though i could understand that might not be of interest to you, but it still has it's value to shamans i think, it's only really the mages I think who have no real potential use for the porting aspect of the ring.

Shaman here; it does have potential, but I isn't the priority that that epic flyer was. Astral Recall and a flight never bothered me too much, I generally use the time wisely (need coffee, bio, play with cat). I'm sure I'll pick one up eventually, but it might take awhile.Money is going to be a bit tight for a bit. I'm leveling two other toons besides my main, and they eventually will need the epic flyer, and the Northrend flying purchase. This will be a priority, above a free port to Dalaran.
