I don't think that it's worth it for the most part - to be honest with fast flight and mounts you're never really that far away from a flight path i.e. so you can travel long distances with very little effort and I just can't imagine a case where you'd need to get to Dalaran THAT often.

It's probably worth it for characters that are farmers, but even then I dunno...
