When considering haste on your new items:WoWwiki says 32.79 haste gives 1% haste. For a hunter with the BM talent Serpent's Swiftness:15% haste from quiver20% haste from Serpent's SwiftnessSteady Shot cast time is 2 seconds.(2 seconds / 1.15 ) / 1.2 = 1.4492That is below 1.5 seconds, any more haste is only helping out white damage from auto-shots.For a hunter without Serpent's Swiftness:15% haste from quiver2 seconds / 1.15 = 1.7391 (new cast time)1.7391 / 1.5 (Ideal cast time) = 1.1594So the haste required to get to the ideal cast time is:15.94%Since it takes 32.79 haste rating to get 1% haste...It will take 522.7391 haste rating to get to the ideal cast time.Round that up to 523 because I'm unsure how WoW rounds. Conclusions about haste:If you have Serpent's Swiftness, don't get any haste. If you do not have Serpent's Swiftness, take it wherever you get it as one of your best stats, because I doubt you'll get to 523.

Should read: "Conclusions about haste for beast mastery hunters: take serpents swiftness, and never take any haste items unless there's no other stat available"It's kind of annoying because all the good green hunter quest rewards seem to have haste on them, when hit or crit would be much better.
